Yesterday was another sunny day here in Amsterdam. We woke up and got ready for our big hike over to the Albert Cyup Market. On the way there, we didn`t make a whole lot of stops, but one we did manage to make was Mellow Yellow.

Mellow Yellow is a pretty cool place. Its a lot bigger then you would think, and the budtender was a really cool and chill guy. We started out with a gram of Cherry Pez (10 e a g), and got our drinks and chilled out in the back. This is one of those rare coffeeshops where its actually comfortable to sit in the seats. They have a pinball machine and a fooseball table. The Cherry Pez is probably one of the hairest buds I have seen all trip. It is literally COVERED in those beautiful red hairs.

A loud group of people came in and started slamming around on the pinball machine, so we decided to get up and get going to the market. On the way out we bought 2 grams of white mellon for 11 e. A great deal!

We arrived at the market and of course it was packed out. People everywhere buying things ranging from cheese to fake hair to luggage. Furniture, home goods, teas....they have it all. We wandered around till about midway through until we found Katsu.

I`ve never been able to manage to get a seat in Katsu in my prior trips, but this time, the place was pretty much empty. The budtender was.... interesting. She wasn`t rude, but she made it a point to try to explain the difference between indica and sativa. I think. At least, that`s what I got from her explination of the menu. Picked out 1.7 grams of the `Killer Green` which cost us 20 euro. This was a really great smoke. It had that familiar skunky smell and flavor. We sat for a bit to cool off from the walk, and then headed out to finish up checking out the market.

We finished strolling through the market and headed over to museumplein. Suprisingly it wasn`t insanly crouded at the Van Gogh, and we went in armed with our audio tour. As usual, this was a fantastic experience. If you have never been to Amsterdam, and you want to only do one or two museums, I strongly suggest this be one of them. Its not horribly expensive as far as museums go (10 euro, plus 4 if you want the audio tour). The 3rd floor of the museum is temp. closed, so that cut about an hour off of our museum time, but that was ok. We enjoyed ourselves anyways.

We strolled around museumplein taking pictures and then decided to head back home. We felt so gross from all the walking that we needed another shower badly. It was actually feeling kind of warm (75 - not really warm, but warm enough to make us sweat from all that walking). We got in, showered, changed, and headed back out.

We walked around for a bit, got some food, and headed to Grey Area. Since the bud here has been top quality, we`ve been trying to try everything on the menu. This time we ended up with 2 grams of Grey Desel and 2 grams of Schroom. Of course - Grey Area did not let us down. The schroom has a very crisp light flavor, and the Desel is a fantastic high.

Calling it a day, we headed home and did some wash, and then smoked and smoked and smoked some more. Another fine day in Amsterdam.

Its pretty overcast this morning and I believe its probably going to rain. We`ll see where today takes us.

Last full day in Amsterdam...

Post by ChefGirl9 »

So I awoke with a sad feeling in my heart....today is my last full day here in the Dam. The weather seemed to mimic my feelings as it looks grey and drizzly outside.

But that`s ok. Because I have about 15 or so grams of hash that need to be smoked, and it would be total drug abuse to waste this wonderful THC product.

Before I forget, let me go over what we did yesterday.

Just to note to anyone who rents this apartment in the future - There is an AH on the corner of Prinsinstraat and Haarlmerstraat. Its much better then the one closer. Across the street is a laundry place, that for 7 euro will wash, dry, and fold your clothes. I don`t know what a `1 machine limit` constitutes, but I did enough for about 4 days of clothes for 2 people.

Also, next door to the AH is a gelato place. Yum! Around the corner is Jo Sushi, and also Noodle N Go. And we cannot forget the bakery. Mm mm good!

So I dropped off the rest of our laundry, and we walked around attempting to find a place that wasn`t jammed packed. We walked past the Grey Area to pick up more gear. This time we ended up with 2 grams of Pot of Gold (13 e a g I think), and 2 grams of Yellow Cab (8.50 e a g). Of course, place is packed, and we waited in line. Dealer was totally nice as usual.

From here I decided that we should see the original Abraxas. Well, that was a mistake. The place was so packed out you kind of had to shuffle around inside. I sucked it up and waited in line for the dealer, getting 2 grams of Kushage (12.50 e a g). Of course, we didn`t stay.

We walked back over to Singel, only to find - yes, the Rokerij was packed out. So around the canal we go, and into Siberie. Horray! The place was practically empty. We decided on 2 grams of the Haze (I have absolutly no idea what we paid for this). The dealer was totally awesome! She gave us 2 keychains and chatted with us about what she thought of the haze. This shop is going high up on my list of all time favorites, as the gear and the shop itself has not let me down a single time on this trip. I`m sure another stop in today will be in order.

It was about time to pick up the laundry and time for lunch. On the way to get our laundry, we stopped in this little shop we`d been using to buy most of our gear for the trip. I have no idea what the name of the place is, but it is by far the best place we found to buy glass pieces. They are right next door to Blue Velvet (which, btw, is closed and being renovated) and they have a large flame sticker in the window. They have really great quality stuff and the indian couple who owns the shop is uber nice.

We`d spent a lot of time looking around for some great pieces to buy on this trip, and we settled on a hammer, a sidecar, and a spoon. For the 3 pieces and one mondo mega cone for the last horrahh, we paid 65 euro. I will make sure to post pics of the pieces once we arrive back home.

Walking more we arrived at the laundromat. We paid our 7 euro for the neatly stacked pile of clothes, and headed to the apartment to drop them off. On the way, we walked past a butcher shop (I assume), and saw these awesome looking chickens roasting in the window. Only 4 euro! Woo! So we grabbed one, and rushed back to the apartment. Man was that chicken so so so tasty.

We headed back out after our late lunch, and into Pink Floyd. It was pretty crouded, but we managed to get the small table on the 2nd floor behind the computers. Just in case anyone is interested, on those pc`s you can use skype to call all your friends back home. We rolled up a j of the Pot of Gold from GA, and smoked away. Another awesome smoke of course. Then we rolled up the Kushage, and we were suprised at how strong it was. Another decent smoke!

My partner and I then parted ways, and I went off to do some more shopping. After about 2 hours or so, we met back up and headed into the Rokerij. I still really dig this place. Its got a cool vibe, and anywhere you sit is good (assuming those tiny little chairs don`t bother you). We smoked a joint of....something I don`t remember, and I decided I may as well try the space muffins. I bought one muffin (6.50 euro), and was warned to read the little card before eating.

So I start eating the muffin while reading the card. It has .2 grams of some weed I have never heard of. Beginner smokers not suggested to eat, yadda yadda. Oh, and it warns you not to smoke until 45 minutes after consuming, and they are not responsible for whatever stupid thing you may do after eating this muffin. I thought this sounded promising. The muffin itself was ok, a bit dry and `Double Chocolate` flavor.

So when I am done, what do I do? Well, I spark up a joint of course! I smoke that and wait. And wait some more. Nothing. We leave Rokerij because it was getting a bit crazy, and walk around in the cool air some more. Still nothing.

Its now about 1030, and we decide to head in. By this time, I have decided I was ripped off by that muffin. Once we`re home, we smoke the Yellow Cab, which rocked my world hard core. Probably the strongest smoke of the trip. It made my head feel `fuzzy` and was perfect for before bed.

This morning has been sadly spent packing up clothes and cleaning the apartment. Its still a little rainy outside, but we will venture out soon. If any of this report makes no sense, its because I have been chain smoking bowls of hash out of the bong. I blame it all on that.

All in all, this has been an amazing trip. I got some fantastic photos, and smoked some of the best weed and hash of my life. I still don`t think I had enough time here, as we didn`t do nearly what we wanted to culture wise (got kinda stuck on smokin all this bud! But thats ok!).

Once I get home, I`ll do a wrap up report, and post a whole shitload more pictures. Thanks for all the great comments everyone! You have made this a fun blog to keep!

Probably stupid questions but why on your last full day were you getting laundry done (4 days worth) and buying well over 5g of weed when you already have over 10g of hash!!! You sure know how to hit it hard! :D

sounds like you had an amazing time and the reports have been appreciated by everyone here! Makes me wanna get back out there!

Any idea how much you smoked in total? Sure made me look like a light weight!

Safe journey home.

Actually, it was enough for 4 days wearing pants twice in a row. Never know what is going to happen with flights (if they ask for people to give up their seat, we will do it for the free tickets). Its always nice to have clean clothes to fly home in. It would have been 7 euro for 1 days worth, or the 4.

The weed is gone. We`re pretty heavy smokers. A gram per j is what we average. Then 2 j`s per shop.

We tried to count everything as best we could, and came up with about 125 grams total. Not sure if this is even close, but I think once I get home I will go through my blog here and try to count it up.

Another thing I wanted to note - if you stay in this apartment, bring your own pillows. The ones here are horrible, and I have no idea how any normal person could be comfortable with a single pillow that compresses down to nearly nothing.

On the plus side, we`re down about 4 grams from my eariler post! Woo! Go chain smoking!

Gunna head out into the dreary weather now!

You and J. are good, kind, funny people... you were so sweet to my daughter, y'all are just the kind of human beings I want to know in life's journey. I'm glad we can do that and not just here on the net, it's much more "real" and satisfying to stay at someone's home and truly get to know them, thank you again for opening your home and your heart.

Keep Marge warm 'til I see her again and don't go fillin her hair with anything but good stuff (like you would anything else lol) but you'll be here before that heh

Tell your brother in law his idea of a dreamcatcher is his underwear nailed to the ceiling

Noooooooooo doooooon't lmao j/k but then you knew that about me right off, knew the difference between kidding and being serious, which you know now I seldom am
