Duvel is large-scale produced and internationally distributed Belgian beer which is still very much revered and respected in the "beer geek" community so macro does not always mean worse, there are absolutely exceptions, I would say that applies to some of the big producers in legal states as well, obviously not all. I would agree with the above on a whole, with a few exceptions. It is possible to produce large amounts of quality, it’s just not as profitable.

I'd disagree, on a single factor:
Beer is packaged the same whether it's craft or pish. Craft cannabis is (or should be) always hand-trimmed because that's how the best produt is produced, commerical is always machine trimmed and always suffers as a result. I don't see much debate against that position.

Of course as always - which side of the debate one sits on depends on what the consumer classes as being indiciative of quality.

You check-mated me there mate, can't argue with that. Not enough illegal "trimmigration" (oh the trimmigrants) to provide the necessary labor and the right price-point I reckon.

Edit: actually, the whole cultural concept of "trimmigrants" - people who flock to California from all over the US to slum it up and earn some coin and nug pay during harvest season. If there is a market for trimmigrants wouldn't that suggest some commercial producers opt for hand-trimmed product? Also even here in Mokum, I know a couple guys that semi-regularly pickup trimming gigs with commercialish type producers, so I think not everyone uses machines though I suspect at a certain level of production output they possibly become all but essential for turnover (?)

People talk a lot of crap (the word Macky didn't quite say, I assume) about language. They'll tell you that "bloody" is a contraction of "by Our Lady", and that "SOS" means "save our souls/ships", and that "posh" comes from "port out, starboard home". And, you know, they don't.

No, FOD - the cringe-worthy expression which Macky did not quite complete goes: "young, dumb and full of cum" he was being quite the jokester, and frankly I'm surprised he knew the expression, maybe he heard me saying as a joke...alas who knows.

Edit: I think one of the few exceptions to the whole backronym thing might be "yuppies" for (Young Urban Professionals) but that could very well not be the case, what do you reckon?

I would assume that those producers that choose hand-trimming would call themselves 'craft'. That's certainly one of the primary criteria I'd be looking for to agree with the label. Regarding turn-over: indeed. A good hand trimmer might do a pound a day if they were REALLY fast. A machine trimmer will do more than that an hour...

I always accepted yuppies as a bastardised acronym for young upwardly mobile professionals.

Boy,s we will know all soon ,why I say this is I read article from master grower who was explaining 10biggest myth s of growing . Seems licensed producers hired grower,s and listened to there techiques(wise tales).
Seems they try different things then test for Cannaboiids ,THC ect.
Most are being shown to be usless myths,how to take cuttings ,get higher THC .ect.
I can,t up load article (maybe Ed will see some and post some of these articles they seem to be every where here right now
One thing they found was substantial drought in flower helped raise THC and when they used less fertilizer in flower they got higher CBD content.
With University of Guelph starting new degree courses in cannabis (they have been researching growing there for years ,plus leader,s in GMO,s) There growing weed there that,s not green ,by using different light spectrum
it grows all different colours. Thinking this should start research in concentrates and edibles as we start to roll those products out in the next year or so

Spent a of time here during 420 weekend. Loozas are €2.5 which is ok for the city centre, staff are very friendly and you don't feel stressed to buy stuff like in many places.It's also spacier than the Coffeeshop, which I don't bother with anymore.

I did buy the breakfast (€14) on one occasion and it was a very shit offering for the price, one sausage in a fry is unacceptable. After that I went back to buying the Loozas though the chicken and waffles does seem to be a favourite of many.

+1 on the shit breakfast! 1 sausage, cold tomato and way overpriced. Batavia's breakfast at €11.50 is miles better in every way. La Grotte also better value and more chilled.

As Ro says it isn't pushy and was ok for drinks and a group chill, quite amusing to watch little groups of 18yr old Brits walking in thinking it's the coffeeshop
