Coffeeshop Solo seems to have "Temple Balls" on their menu. I saw a pic on their instagram:

but well there is a lot of black hash that been sold as "Temple Ball"... Blue Bird has it also on the menu and it was a well known spot for good black hashes in the past but in the last time there were also a lot of not so good reviews for Bluebirds gear :?

Thanks Marok21, I've seen it Barneys menu also. So would you say it's better to look for dark soft hash more generically in shops than to go looking for a name. I usually smoke weed and tend to trust my nose but I'm a little less experienced in hash, so advice from people like yourself on how to spot quality is extremely useful.

first of all , temple balls should be balls
second of all , i dont think coffeeshops still sell these cause its too risky . if theres opium in them and they sell it and some1 finds out they risk their coffeeshop license ( some temple balls used to contain opium )
Relax and take notes , as I take tokes of the marihuana smoke

Temple balls is just hand rubbed hash, rolled to perfection :D
This is done in humid country,s to store for long periods of time ,hence crack the egg and find creamy goodness in side(Creamy Lion,s  )
As the song goes...Black Nepalese has me weak in my knees
Greenhouse has a hash called Temple ball usually? I try and find good charros when I,m there ,but have not had much luck,
I mostly go for the trans Himalayan when there  Kirtinsky CS butchered the name  someone will correct the name for you I,m sure.

Gonna try some Nepalese if I come across it. I'm guessing that'll be the kind of hash you can roll into thin sticks and pop into a joint ? We won't have a vape/pax, doubt we'll get anywhere near buying a pipe, so it'll be just joint smoking. . Apart from when we go to Willie wortels and can hopefully get on the e-nail :D

I also heard about hash (from older friends who smoke longer than me) thats probably made with opium... it was sold as "Caramello" and according to my friends it was very dark brown oily stuff and pretty famous in that time with the people who smoked it. Heard stories of people who collapsed after smoking a bowl of it  . Well it could be all a urban legend and they just talking shit  but I heared that from many people and some of them are trustworthy persons

Well that "caramello" hash was from the "black market" and like RvanSteensel wrote no coffeeshop will offer such stuff because of the risk to loose their license... by the way personaly I wouldn´t smoke hash thats made with opium

It often happens to myself that I pay too much attention to names when buying. Names are only names and the best is always to take a look or better smell on the hash before buying. Some hashes didn´t smell or only a little that´s no good sign... real good hash smells usually in a good natural way. Usually fresh soft hash is better than rock hard hash... well a few hashes are pretty hard at first but gets soft when holded in the hand for a while (which is also good)... but with black hashes like Nepal I would look more for the softer hashes. Personaly I would take a look on the different black hashes the coffeeshop offers and decide on smell/look... trust your senses

If you directly go for one sort like Temple Balls and don´t look on the other hashes you have no choice anymore and miss maybe the real good stuff.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm staying right next to Babylon, been in before it was renovated and had the chance to sit on the seats right next to the budtender, from memory I saw a lot of people come in and buy hash, and checking reviews it would seem they do a fair bit of morrocan so I will be checking this place out for dark hash. I'll take your advice Marok21 and stick to the tried and tested "does it smell right" method, I read some of your review about the lemon hash in central, I understand this one won't smell classically hashy, but is it worth a try ? I went to Solo last year with the same friend I'm going with on Monday, we had some really bad experiences with the weed there, we both bought top smelling weed, some kind of haze, but it was unsmokeable, hard ash, no taste etc so joints and baggies were left on the table. I doubt we'll go back to be honest. We've seen the insta posts from easytimes so will be heading there to see the hashes they have. I will update you as to what we buy 👍

Opium is not Heroin BTW. But black hash laced with it would be right up my street. It's not in coffeeshops, and if it was it would cost. People don't give opium away for free

It's all about THC for me.

Close enough. It’s not cool and it’s not a substance that we welcome here.

I don't think traditional temple ball had opium in it, i am not saying that opium was never added to charas in Nepal, but I think it is an urban myth. I have heard that the story of the opium being in temple ball , also came from people in Europe seeing very light mould inside their chars fingers, patties and this was explain away" as being opium man " . Opium is grown in Nepal and so I could imagine it being added to low grade charas but the first quality .... umm. Also charas is religious in Nepal, so not sure again they would add opium to their sacrement
