I heard this place has one of the largest and most diverse bud menus in Adam. Is this still the case?

No i wouldnt say its particuarly a large menu, i would say Dampkring must hold that crown, but they certainly have a nice variety of buds on offer, i always stop in here when im in dam. Cool place....

The first time you go in that toilet though... its a bit mental!

Always in my top 3 ...it was the first coffe-shop i ever visited on my first trip to the Dam..and i always make a point of visiting at least once a day, plus if you fancy a beer with your smoke you can nip next door to the Tetra bar.

The menu isnt that big but its nice and clean and there Dutch Ice is always good for a night-cap,the staff are always cool and easy going, and there hot choccy with cream gives a warm surgar rush when needed 8)

Grab a seat out-side ,relax and watch the world go bye

toilet still makes me snigger

I always stop by here whenever i'm in town. Good selection of weeds and a fine tasting cake. They also make excellent hot chocolates.

Been here a couple of times. Most recentley in November i picked up some quality Maroccan Gold. cost 30euros for 4.2g i think. Very gooey in consistency, rather like a "black" hash. Nice seating inside and out. drinks were reasonably priced too.

A lot smaller than i had expected. QUALITY weed at this place. small menu and pre-made bags but nice stuff. THe best being the Shiva - some of the most crystal covered buds i have ever seen and a very smooth fruity smoke. also got some White Widow and some SnowWhite - also really crystalized but very strong. nice budtender, nice location, btw - they have changed the eye logo - my mate and i walked past it twice before recognising it. (Pictures for most of the strains are on their way)
I miss that place so much.

Volcano Virgin

Post by Hitonda_Obong »

I lost my "Volcano Viginity" at the Homegrown :-) It seems they have a policy that if you buy 50 euro of weed/hash you get a free sample. They gave me a gram of Durban poison so I cooked it up in the volcano. That really set me off. I proceeded to joke around with the girl tending bud for about an hour of fun.

Similar to many other shops closer to the station, they sell pre-packaged items. Quality is good and prices reasonable. They are "famous" for Blue Haze, but recently I could not find any pure on the menu, some hybrids like NYC Diesel x Blue Haze. No complaint though.

On my first visit there some time ago they had "Rocket Fuel" - a pure sative ice of some kind. Aptly named. This time they had an indica ice which is pretty stoney and some White Widow Kif (look out Grey Area!). I've used the kif to roll with some joints and it is a very nice add-on.

Also, they have some of the best space cakes, IMO. I buy a few of these to dull-out the pain of long airflights since smoking is out of the question.

They have a very friendly "sister" seed-shop around the corner. I have bought Blue Haze and Swazi Skunk seeds there. Plan to sprout some this season.

Real great people in a great little shop. Not a "slick" place, more "hippie natural", is how I would try to describe it.

The UV light in the toilet makes you think you have some kind of very serious internal plumbing problem.

Hippie natural just about sums the place up! When I was there week after last there was a super friendly dutch lady elbow deep in cleaning out the Roors. She was very apologetic that she couldn't get me a coffee and gave me a coke on the house. When she had finished the bong cleaning exercise she offered me a coffee, superb customer service. It felt more like a cafe in Nimbin NSW than a place in dam.

Needless to say I ended up hitting the Roor and proceeded to have a 5 minute coughing fit

Great chilled vibe, very different to a lot of the coffeshops I went into in dam. the place has a real "holiday" vibe to it.

Light and Airy, Good Atmosphere

Post by olderguy »

Hi. :D First post on ACD. Went to Dam for the first time in 7 years last month. Before that NYE 1992. I really wanted to try the best outdoor grown gear and Homegrown Fantasy seemed one the most obvious to visit.

They have a decent number of tables and it feels spacious with the big windows. Tasty coffee too with a decent smoke menu. I tried a gram of Purple Sensi here (5 euros I think). The bud had a wonderful deep purple colour and had a good smell to it. Admittedly it did not reek like some of those stinking, citrus or dieselly smelling weeds but it was a tasty smoke for brunch on a Tuesday morning and a rest from Haze abuse.

The lady selling it said she was generally a hash smoker but when she did smoke weed she would usually go for the Purps.

We made this cs our home from home

Post by GunSlinger »

Hi everyone, me and the missus were out in dam from friday until today, back home now :( well after dumping off our bags at the hotel this was the 1st shop we stopped in, the staff were all great, I didn't get any of their names but the dealer on Saturday night (he reminded me of Harry Hill, there I wasn't gonna say it and I have, me missus will kill me lol) well he had me in stitches thats one funny guy :) anyways we walked in and said hi to the charming young lady behind the counter, then explained we'd just arrived after 7 hrs travelling blah blah, we didn't want to get monged but wanted a nice buzz to take off the rough edges etc and she suggested Genie of the Lamp, sorry but I'm not a connosieur so my descriptions will probbly be a bit vague... we got a gramme of GotL for 7 euros I think, it had a nice smell, both in the bag and when lit, it was nicely trimmed with just enough stalk/stem to hold it all together. A nice cerebral high that really did smooth off those rough edges.

We went back Saturday and got 0.7 of a gramme of Charamella, I think this was the one that had the crystals over it, but once again it was a bloody nice cerebral high that left the body still capable of normal functions, also brought a slice of chocolate space cake and a slice of walnut space cake for 5 euros each (I think), they were realllllly nice when they kicked in hehehe.

Then after the souveneir hunting session on Sunday it was back once again, this time we just had a few coffees while we smoked what we had already brought from there earlier, then on the way out I brought some Shiva, and once again thats 3 outta 3 it was a good choice.

Next time I go back is going to be with me mate so the 1st place I'm gonna take him if he wants to go green 1st is to the Homegrown Fantasy.

Tips:
Always try to remember to leave a tip, not only does it keep your pockets empty of clods, it gives you a nice fuzzy feeling when they give you a genuine smile and say thankyou (not to mention the free cappucinos).

You MUST MUST visit the toilet while your there, pref after you've had a few smokes and a lot to drink, the more the better

Try the volcaniser I didn't get around to it this visit but I definitly will next time.

Homegrown Fantasy Gallery

Coffeeshop: Homegrown Fantasy Gallery
Date of visit: 11/22/2006
Rating: Liked the shop! :D

The HFGallery was a great place to stop in and hang out. It was fairly roomy as far as coffeeshops go. We managed to get a table when we first came and settled in for some serious smoking. We got one of their ’06 cup entries named “Genie of the Lamp” (10€/gr). It was some good tasting herb with a nice stoney high.
