Hi Lemming would there be any chance of getting the 420 Count Down Clock back up and running again?

I remember that there was one in the past and looking back through the threads it looks like it was in 2011 and it was a great little touch for the site and also for all the members that were going to be attending 420 that year, it added a little bit of excitement

What does every one else think on it, having the 420 countdown clock back?

Love it, pretty sure it's been on the last few years as well (but stoner memory and all)... Since there is a 420 thread going, it could be time

Like the New Year's Eve Ball in New York City, except months in advance. Lemming's real good about starting one every year, just not sure when.

I want to update the forum software (phpBB) to the latest version first so I don't have to do the job twice. The latest version requires an update of the underlying PHP software too and that involves some coordination with HullDJ. Supposedly the latest PHP is twice as fast. Not sure how much difference that will make in practice but might help. There's a few new features in the latest phpBB too.

Made a massive step forwards late last night.
Finally got us over to all the latest software (phpBB 3.3 and PHP 7.3).
Not sure whether there's much noticeable difference.
It's supposed to be faster for one thing.
Claims to support the 'entire Emoji keyboard' too. I just tried some and they worked but not sure whether they would've worked before anyway.

Anyway, it's good to have up-to-date software.

Most of the extensions survived the upgrade, including the important mChat. One did fail, Last Post Avatar, but I think I may have a solution for that to try later.

The relevance to this thread is that I can now hack in the countdown so I'll do that later too.

On Emojis

On my Windows PC I can press the Windows key and full stop (period) to get Emojis. Presumably something similar on phones, Apples, etc.

That gives me loads such as:

Maybe you know more about this and can explain more

Well, Last Post Avatar is still not working. That's a proper pro extension that I haven't the time, inclination or, above all, talent to debug.

The countdown, on the other hand, is just a nasty little hack by me. It seems to work as well as it ever did with the new pro software. It looks OK on my PC. A bit untidy on my phone.

Just noticed the countdown clock up in the top right corner excellent work. Adds a little bit of excitement and loving the Rasta colours to.

I haven't really had the time to log in just recently and when I saw the countdown clock at 65days think it was in the 70's when I last saw it ROLL ON 420 tick tock tick
