I've eaten at a great Indian restaurant near the Melkweg, but that was over 7 years ago. Last time I was near Leidseplein, I picked up a slice of pizza. I've seen some Argentenian steak houses, bet those are alright.

What kinda thing are you looking for? Whats your budget etc? Theres tonnes of cheap places to eat along Leidsedwarsstraat, its very easy to spot, its the road running from the corner with Burger King.

Iguazu has had some good reviews, its just 2 mins walk north of Leidseplein : http://www.channels.nl/amsterdam/iguazu.html

Or just go to google and and search for Amsterdam restaurant reviews/guides etc?

Ive been to an indian restaraunt a couple of years back, it was on the Korte Leidsedwarsstraat, near the Ledseplein. Very very nice place, i had a Lamb Dansak, stunning, fresh herbs, loads of flavour. EVERYTHING is made fresh hear too. Expect to pay 25-30 euros for a full on slap-up meal inc a couple of beers. Heres the website with a menu on it and prices.

Oh yeah its also very near Rookies, ideal for a smoke afterwards 8)

If you're not looking for 'fancy' then you will have absolutely no problem in the Leidseplein area! :D
