If there's no medical admin required I will try book for Oct too

New curfew in Catalonia is until August as that's when a sufficient amount of people will be vaccinated, hopefully similar timelines in NL.

Great to see people booking and I hope you all make it there 8)

My only aggravation is that the US is requiring a negative COVID test, and for me and the family, that's $400 of tests at the airport and a 1/2 day going to the airport, sitting for the test, taking the test, and generally wasting time. That's an expensive requirement.

Then we start to book our flights and find out that my eldest little boy's passport expires in one month. Agh! Another expense to expedite that thing.

Cannot wait to return and get active on this board again!
To return the US you'll only need an antigen (rapid) test, and not a PCR.

Here on the Dutch side you can arrange that either at the airport or several labs in the city center for around €50 a pop...

Fuck that still seems expensive for an antigen test, but that's probably bscause both PCR and antigen test are free here even for tourists...

There are free ones here, have one booked this morning for Mallorca, as a backup (in case they wanna give me a hard time about my CDC vax card). But they're meant primarily for intra-EU travel, as they're linked to the app.

I've heard that some have used them to get into the States though...

Edit: on that note Reb, if you end up needing to take them in the US to get into NL, book at either Walgreens or CVS you can get all manners of tests with a certificate, for free.

Bravo Denmark. In Spain they're only free if you've been in close contact with someone who tests positive otherwise you pay around 100 for a PCR and 40 for an antigen.

Did my free antigen test today. Testing site was literally located just across the canal and up the street, so a. 5ish minute walk.

Was in and out the facility in less than 10 minutes, and head my negative results with the hour

I'm thinking of a last minute weekend trip this coming weekend (it's only a few hours by train from where I live in Germany) to Amsterdam because I miss it so much. Are coffeeshops open for business as usual and can you stay and smoke there? Museums, bars, restaurants seem to be open normally except for the curfew.

Has anyone travelled by train recently between Germany & Netherlands?

October trip is still in the cards, unless this delta variant screws it up again for everyone. :(
I check the web cams and the local guy on youtube and everything seems pretty normal right now.
I guess will just have to wait and see what happens in the next couple of months.
