I guess I'm a human first American later. From my point of view, I don't care what country you live in. I judge the individual and not the person's government when I meet someone. Everyone is their own ambassador. I'm not going to pretend our constitution is any more sacred or ideal than another country's, that would be ignorant.

I just want to thank those in here who served and risked their lives for all of us, I truly appreciate all of you.
Other than that I hate politics and don't talk about them; total buzz kill any way you slice it for me.
Peace,
IG

Well I wasn't being sarcastic as usual, I truly meant MY thanks to y'all... especially you, bongdude.USBONGLORD wrote:YOUR WELCOME,DC....DONT GET THANKED TOO OFTEN...I DID MY BEST...NOW 20 YEARS LATER IM FINE
I respect those who risk their lives for the good and safety of others, it's one of the most selfless acts a person can do no matter if you get paid for it or not.
It takes guts to lay your life on the line... gee, can't remember the last time I saw a bartender do that.
My father served in the military and went on to become a fireman. He never took someone's life, but he sure saved a BUNCH of them.

Play the ball not the person?.
IG, You might know a bit more of what you're actually talking about if politics wasn't such a 'buzz kill' for you, even though you sound like a politician yerself. Praise with no questions....I'm sure the government would give you a job anyday.
Just to point out, my sister is in the army, my brother served 14 yrs, my nephew recently enlisted and a cousin was shot dead in Belfast while on on duty. So, if yer thinkin I'm anti-military...nope. But I care about where they are and why they're there and when the reasons aren't right, then I'm not going to thank them for it. The military is the heavy end of a political decision, they come as part of a package. So to say thanks to one without caring about the other, to me, just sounds rediculous...but hey, maybe I'm wrong.
To compare the army to a bartender is also rediculous, but then, that was just you being a cheeky bitch to me personally, nice. There was a young bartender stabbed to death in O'donnels a couple of years back protecting some customers from a junkie....he wasn't under orders at the time, to think, he might've wasted his life over somebody like you, unfukinbelievable. Come work for us for a night and we'll let you handle all the assholes this city throws up daily and we'll see where your guts are. See, what the hell would you know about having guts anyway....nothin, you've probably got more secrets than George Bush. But hey, maybe I'm wrong again.
Thought for the day: Never listen to someone that clearly just doesn't think...........whatever her head looks like.

I never mentioned your name, you must have a complexDC wrote:Play the ball not the person.
Wow what a hypocrite! I think you'd make the better politician by far. You need to read the Golden Rules Lem set out don't you? Obviously so and like you've been nice to me? Oh puhleeeze you've taken more shots at me than Dick Cheney on a hunting trip. I took my problem with you to you in private, you brought it public as Lem asked us NOT to do. You need to learn to show respect for people like Lem OH and learn how to read.DC wrote:but then, that was just you being a cheeky bitch to me personally, nice.
You forgot the rest of me, it's even hotter.DC wrote:Thought for the day: Never listen to someone that clearly just doesn't think...........whatever her head looks like.

Care to go back and have a look. The last and one of the few times I've ever spoken to you I got yer PM for my troubles and then I was just being devils advocate. This time I played yer post not you, after the reply to Bonglord you became a 'cheeky bitch', not so much an insult more just the simple truth because it doesn't take a genius to workout who the bartender you were referring to was...and the rest. If you want to act like a dumb blonde, by all means be my guest....but don't judge everybody by yer own standards. Complex?...it's you who thinks I'm out to get ya, not the other way round.islandgurl wrote:I never mentioned your name, you must have a complexDC wrote:Play the ball not the person.![]()

I like what this guy has to say. I haven't heard much about him, although I get most of my news from here: http://www.democracynow.org/ I'm surprised they don't talk about him. I don't have tele, just radio and of course internet.drummerboy323 wrote:You Want Change? Mike Gravel '08 Check him out. He helped end Vietnam he can end Iraq. He is being snubbed by U.S Media. It annoys me that I need to take an interest in American politics, but I do.
For almost 100 years, the American president has, for all intents and purposes, been the Big Banana of Planet Earth.
Annoyingly only American citizens can choose who the big banana will be, and tragically the majority of them can't be fucked to get off their arse and cast an informed vote.
No offence to any Americans present, but that state of affairs should be a one of great shame to you. Although it's probably only the one's that DO cast a vote that would understand why.
Seems to me WE really do get the government that YOU deserve.
Mr. Gravel is a breath of fresh air, I hope his rhetoric helps persuade the next Big Banana to pack his/her humanity before moving into the White House.
Rant over.
