I actually saw them all in the cinema, just not the 1st one on that particular day

Great films, visually they achieved everything you could have wanted from the book, the Orcs look just how you imagined them, stunning stuff!

saying a book causes people to do evil things i think is just looking for a scapegoat its the same as trying to blame video games, films or music.

i mean marylin manson has been blamed for many things, i listen to marylin sometimes, not a huge fan but he's not bad and i know plenty of people that like him, none of them have turned into cultist murderers.

Its just much easier to blame something such as a book or music than it is to accept that somewhere in this kids life somethin has gone wrong or they have just chosen a dodgy path, we need to take responsibility for our own actions.

sorry if someone has already put this but ya know you guys are makin REAAALLLLY long posts :D:D:D :p

Anyway back on track. Ive not seen it but i will say that i saw the "Philosiphers Stone" last week for the first time, Not my style of film at all, and a bit long. But i found it to be quite enjoyable and entertaining i must admit. 8)
wow I just noticed axeman that you called it the philosphers stone. I heard JK rowling changed the name to Socerers stone because she thought americans would not read it as Philosphers stone. So the first movie release says philospher?

Call me a purist if you will, but I still wish they would have left the scouring of the shire in. Oh well the books will suffice.

You know I have absolutely no idea where this accusation of Bible thumping comes from when did I quote the Bible one single time in fact I never mentioned the Bible at all until others had attacked both it and my faith in My God who I also had not mentioned once until attacked so can anyone on here actually read my posts before they respond with an attack......please.

I guess my biggest mistake was I thought this was a FORUM a place where one could post and offer an opinion rather than to be attacked and falsely accused but now after over 2 years on here I find out what happens when a guy makes one post that others do not agree with.
I certainly never thought I would find it on here among people I had once liked so very much I also never really thought anyone would probably agree either but I was just offering food for thought and never expected this reaction.

Cattales1960 that entire cannabis comment was uncalled for who has put more post on this site urging others to join the legalization movement than me and you knew that before you even posted it.....yes I was a little hot after the constant mudslinging in my direction when I replied but I never did anything on here but try to make one simple post offering one mans view and the next thing I know this crazy mess starts up because a few on here just plain did not like my opinion and now I guess you chose to join in it as well.

So much for free speech and an open forum for exchanging ideas nice try though I thought this was one place I could offer a personal opinion without being burned at the stake for it.....no pun intended ............well actually yes it was but at this point I might as well just laugh this whole silly mess off rather than let the mudslingers online bug me.
Also I have much better things to do with my time so I am done with this thread completely.

Hey...Lemming I know from past post that you and I are from completely different sets of beliefs and faiths but if we ever meet I hope we can both sit down together and burn a few and discuss anything or nothing but not in the presence of the nutters....OK

Well, I just got back from seeing the movie in 3D IMAX, and it was awesome. I highly reccommend this movie to all. It is a great movie. Yes the movies, like the books, get much more intense, but alot of us have grown up with him, and understand whats going on. If you havent seen the movies or the books previously, you need to do that before jumping into this one. They assume you know characters already, which I do, but if not up on the series, it may be hard for you to understand. Anyway, I think it was a great movie.

I haven't seen any of them, not my bag... I got it, but then it is fairly obvious - it's made for kids and movie makers (much more than writers) will always try to make their work accessible to all.

Only reason I went to see it is so I could eat a huge hash yog and go see it in glorious IMAX 3D!

I originally thought the whole movie was going to be in 3D (ala Night At The Museum) but was sadly disappointed in finding out it was the last 20 minutes (a bit of a cop out you ask me, either do it, or don't), also saw The Ant Bully in 3D, even though animation is a different ball game as everything can be made to appear in focus, NATM looked great throughout.

One thing I will say is that my friend and I were cringing into our popcorn during the kissing scene. Maybe it's just me, but children tongueing each others tonsils makes me want to look away  apart from that, film was ok ... nothing to write home about, I can see the attraction for some people, but I much prefer a good Sci-Fi flick ;-)

The hash yog did it's trick though, we looked like a pair of drunkards getting out our seats, bit embarrasing with lots of kiddies about and us being the only two people in the theatre over the age of 12 who didn't have kids with them - covered in popcorn, blatantly stoners out for a 3D IMAX buzzzzzzz... then out into the most incredible heat and blazing sunshine - i looked like the Hypno-Toad with burning red eyes, shocking display for a Wed (or was it Thursday?) lunchtime ....
