Signature Length Query

Is it at all possible this forum will allow longer signatures in the future?

I wanted to include my standard sig image,

but this exceeds the current 50 character limit.
So I tried removing the URL tags, leaving just the image intact

however even this was too long.
I know I'm new, so apologies if I am breaking some basic netiquette specific to this forum; however I'm hoping it is ok to ask at least.

PS If lemming is worried about sig spam, you could always increase the character limit, but place a limit on the amount of urls etc....

I actually wanted to change my signature today but was unable to due to this restriction. I am sure there's a good reason for the limit but I'd love to have a longer signature.

btw, I normally try to ensure my sig only appears once per page, a sort of forum specific netiquette I personally try to hold to...
