we bought NYC from Dampkring and Sour from Blues Brothers, both tasted the same and had the same effect on us....only differece was that the NYC costs 8,5€ and sour costs 12€.....

i just got my info from here:
"A strain of cannabis originated from the Umass Amherst area, rumored to be an offshoot of the breader ChemDawg from the days of www.overgrow.com Was quite popular amoung weed conisuers in Boston and New York in 2000. Was originally a whispy light weight strain. Soma later introduced a strain called NYCSD "New York City Sour Diesel". Claims some rasta gave it to him in NYC, how ever this strain did not originate from NYC and was most likely was other strains bred for similarity with the original, most likely shares parentage with the currently popular grapefruit strain. Because of avalabilty Soma's obviously different strain at the peak of NYCSD popularity the original from the streets of New York became known as ECSD "East Coast Sour Diesel" You can still find the original at the Grey Area coffe shop in Amsterdam. RezDawg of Resivoir seeds uses the original Sour diesel in his sour diesel strains. How ever they have been bred for more weight while keeping the potency. RezDawg's sourdiesel strains are generaly cosidered the standard now.

So how to tell the difference, Sour diesel from soma or soma breeds will be a limey sorta green where as the original was a darker almost blueish hue. This darker hue is quite evident in the strains from Rezdawg. The original smells like a diesel fuel spill at a gas station when broken up where as the Soma strain has a fruity graipfuitish smell."

of course any shop can rename a strain if they want. ie ocean's 12 haze = buddha's sister

What is the best shop for real East Coast Sour Diesel? I've had a few different NYC diesel strains, but I'm still looking for good sour diesel. My friends in the states who have had real EC SD say it is one of the best strains available.

Blues Brothers.....well, you can be lucky, like the first time when we went and bought some Mango for only 7€/gr. which tasted really great and blew us away or you can have bad luck, like the 2nd time we went and bought the sour diesel for 12€ which was exactly the same as the NYC Diesel. but the staff is friendly and the interior is great.

I scored some Diesel x Haze from Het Ballonnetje back in December. It was a very nice soaring high, happy happy mood with little body stone. We were there the week after the CC and this was one of the most memorable scores of the trip.

Great head stash, but no doubt no longer available or different in some way. Of course it's always a crap shoot, but the real time reports will steer the OP in the right direction.

I will be checking for it again next trip.

Speaking of real time reports, where is JBomb?

Btw, today i just remembered that if any of you gets the chance to visit Sittard in Limburg near the German border, go to "Relax" and if you see Diesel or Super Diesel on their menu....buy it, even if it is at 10 or 11€/gr. it is really the best Diesel I have ever smoked, even better than from Dampkring. i dont know how they do it, but it is really great...only smoke that was better for me, was the orange haze from Mellow Yellow (cant stop thinking about it :D )

i tried diesel strains from many shops... and the one that stood out was from Homegrown Fantasy... i think it was Red Diesel... although alot of diesel strains have the grapefruity smell i found that it was only the strain from homegrown where the smell came through to the taste and it really tasted sweet and fruity... almost too much though..but I loved that strain. the annoying thing was you couldn't buy alot... it was in 5 or 10 euro bags... i got a few 10euro bags. :)
I miss that place so much.

hows the Diesel from Trefpunt? On our next visit on New Year eve, we are camping right next to it, and would like to know if its worth the money, or if the Diesel from Dampkring is better......does it taste like citrus, like from De Dampkring?
I also got A LOT of the NYCD from Trefpunt in April. It's good weed, but it doesn't smell or taste anything like true NYCD. So if you really want that flavor and smell? Don't get the NYCD there... the Jack Herer was worth the money there, though, as well as some of their hashes. I didn't try the White Widow but I'm going to in November.

Cristal is probably the best weed from Tref Punt, although I haven't sampled their Widow for a while...

*_* thank you for all the info and help...

Didnt make it to greenhouse this time.I purchased nycd from dutch flowers for 9 a gram...was good stuff. Then got some from de dampkring...Their batch was the best Ive had of nycd so far....very good taste-smell-high, and slightly cheaper at 8.50.I went back for more a few times...Got some sour diesel from the coin...It wasnt near as good as the s. diesel they had in march.

So, I know where Im getting my first gram of nycd next time :).
