Loved Pink Floyds, great music, staff, coffee and 3 floors each with a different vibe 8)

bought 1.2 g Umma Gumma 10 Euros. This was my first purchase of Hashish since I only smoke green normally but after many good reports about the umma gumma decided to give it a try. I commented on how soft it was to the budtender, he said all hash should be soft, it's only the crap you get in the UK that needs to be burned. That was a surprise, a mate of mine has been burning hash for 20+ years, wait till I tell him it's crap

I was intending to logon to this site to keep people informed of my travels, if anybody is going to do this remember your forum password, I didn't

Another little tip, there is a "hole in the wall" ATM between Pink Floyds and Picassos, proved very handy.

One of my favourites from my previous trip in August 2004 and I was pleased to see that the shop still had the same great staff, atmosphere, sounds and smokes as before when I stopped by in March 2006.

Sampled some of the Umma Gumma hash while I was there and just sat and chilled downstairs.

Would definitely stop there again if i make it back to Amsterdam

Great Shop

Very nice coffee shop!. The staff were the nicest of any shop we tried. The Bud Man from Scottland was extremely nice and helpful. The Umma Gumma hash was excellent as mentioned in other posts. We visited this shop everday. As an older couple, this shop felt comfortable. Unlike some of the shops that cater to the younger crowd. Music was nice, not overdone. The Mother's Finest weed burnt the best of any from this trip. Well cured, not just dried. If you want loud techno music and an attitude, look elsewhere. Will go back! Just wish they sold beer.

This is a good cafe, with 3 floors to choose from too.

The last time I went I purchased a gram of Umma Gumma hash which was nice, very tastey and hit hard, but when the initial wack was over after 5 minutes or so it was quite mild and mongy.

Also tried a gram of Mothers finest, which was a lot weaker than I expected but o.k, and whilst we were rolling our first doobies the pre-ordered ham and cheese toasties came after 8 minutes, perfect!

They were sooo good we ordered another one each and proceeded to get monged, stayed there about 3 hours, and the sexy girl serving was very friendly, but it's E1.90 for a coke!

Great menu for weed and food! And it has internet! Watch out climbing those stairs trying to get to the third floor, but it's worth it for the view down Haarlemeerstraat!

Thanks for letting us know Boner. Richard is a real friendly guy and after my friend and I met him on one trip, he kept remembering us or myself on my own and was talking like a long lost friend.

I saw him in Pink Floyd in january and he said that he no longer worked their but in the building trade - although he did still smoke there.

Very pleased to hear he is back and sorted out any problems which arrose - I am sure he said his uncle owned the shop (during a trip in 2004), maybe they have changed owner/management since then; but I will no doubt make an effort to meet him again at the end of july. Would have made the effort to go to PF again, more so now one of the friendliest dealers around is back working.

Pink Floyd: Shine on you crazy diamond

Wow...what a place....spent 2 days in here on the top floor doing not a lot apart from smoking, eating and contemplating the genious of the Floyd. This a really homely, friendly place with the nicest staff and hash in Amsterdam. I would recommend their ham & egg breakfast, which seems to come with a never ending supply of toast...perfect. Wash this down with a nice bit of Dirty Jack (high, clean burn with a gentle landing), followed by a bit of Mother's Finest, interspaced with some Buddah Sativa. Jules, the Scottish lassie behind the bar is a fine hostess.....just remember her if you have any left before you leave for your flight....she really appreciates it! :D

Excellent coffee shop!! bought some Umma Gumma hash from this place and found it a very very nice smoke, a new favourite of mine. They also do good cheese toasties, and a good selection of drinks and hot/cold sandwiches.

Ive only just found this forum so this review is for April when i had my first trip to the dam over the queensday weekend.

Richard served me & as everyone seems to have mentioned he was really friendly. When he found out it was my first time in Amsterdam & Floyd's was the first coffee shop i'd called into he went out of his way to give me suggestions and info on places to go & of course what weed to buy.

I settled for 'top tits' & 'Mothers finest' Which were both amazing smokes & remain two of my favourites. Sweet & spicy smokes nice stoning effect, but with a nice head high thrown in. Richard checked to make sure i was enjoying my smokes.

This place became base camp for me while i was in the dam, and it'll be base camp on my future visits.

The MJ is excellent, Richard is a mine of info & really makes you welcome, the shop itself is very homey & comfortable....i didnt want to leave the place.

Thumbs up....my favourite coffee shop in the dam :D
