By the way; broodje (broht-yuh) is the Dutch word for sandwich. Try not getting the English menu, it's a fun game.

Within Schipol, there is a cafe close to an exit that sells heated cheese and ham croissants... not particularly dutch perhaps, but they were delicious 3 & 6 years ago at least. In case there are multiple cafes by exits, it had a serving area, with tables and high stools in front, with a proper sit down table and chair section to the right and behind it.

It's not just ham and cheese that go into toasties, although it seems the dutch would have you believe that!

My definition of a toastie needs the Breville Toastie Cut N Seal style pictured below.

If it's not done in one of those, it's just a toasted sandwich imo

But yeah, I reckon that there should be a better choice of toastie in 'dam - you can put anything in those things, from tuna and onion/sweetcorn to peanut butter and jam/jelly ... cheese and pickle is a favourite of mine although watch yerself, melted cheese is painful enough to burn yourself on but for some reason when you add pickle into the equation it's like molten lava, you've been warned

Cheese and sliced hotdog sausage with branston pickle is great choice.

Neldo you're a true toastie lover! I agree, much better with the Breville seal, but you've definitely got to wait 10 minutes for the cheese to drop below iron-smelting temperature :D

Never heard of those. My wife's fave: http://www.bubbies.com/prod_pure_kosher_dills.shtml

Come to think of it, she has been eating a lot of pickles lately
