I'm staying here and June and reading the reviews on a few websites I am having second thoughts. I couldn't care less about amenities etc but I would like a clean room ... anyone stayed here recently?

:D

Only used the restaurant, it was great. Looks like a nice hotel to me, at least one where, if you had a problem, it would be dealt with well. Plus, it's just over the road from HGF. Me likee.

I used to stay there when I came for job interviews. It is nice inside, centrally located.

Negatives: very loud as it is on the street. At least street-facing rooms

When I was there 2 years ago the Wifi barely worked, it was terribly slow. It was free but I told them that it was a huge problem for business travelers. They may have fixed this.

Ok will take some earplugs. I have paid £230 for 3 nights for me and my BF. As long as it's clean(ish) and has a bed, shower, toilet. Oh, BF wants adult movies too but I guess they're standard in amsterdam anyhow...

Never had any probs with noise but i was in a top floor suite, this is a great hotel just a little pricey but IMO worth it if thats what you like.

I'd avoid it. Has work going on in that area and on the hotel frontage. Makes navigating that area a pain.

The hotel is like a bare minimum on all counts to attain this including service which was poor. The receptionist started talking loudly in dutch to a colleague while I was in the middle of a question. Like a crappy 3 star hotel with 2 star service.
Location for me was super as I had a bad foot and Utopia/Grey Area/Paradox/Betty Boo are all very close.

However I'd guess the Avenue wins on most count despite having only 3 stars.
How much did you produce?
