Walking Distance

Post by igrowzmetrees »

I love to walk around NY and have no problem walking for miles. My ? is how long would it take to walk from lets say Central Station to somewhere like Noon or Katsu, all the way down by like Vondelpark...also, how far is that in MILES please...i know every1 will say to just take the tram or grab a bike but more often then not i will prefer to walk from point A to point B...theres nuthin better then walking in some nice cold weather with a good coat and a couple of good blunts to keep you warm, in my opinion anyways...any1 else enjoy a good stroll while under the influence?

After spending a couple of hours in the morning smoking (especially the vapo's on my recent trip) I was in much need of a casual stroll anywhere just to get some fresh air in my lungs and clear my head slightly in order to carry on throughout the day.

As for a walk from CS to the Katsu area, I would say about 30 mins at a very casual pace would be easily enough time (providing you know where you are going).

i love walking through amsterdam when stoned or sober (but since things are what they are - am stoned most of time in am'dam...)
i suggest using a map and taking advantage of some pedestrian only routes like the Caalverstraat( or is it Kaalverstraat) - that way you have less trams/bicycles/cars to deal with. from CS to leidseplein is about 25 minutes, another 10-15 to Vondel park and the museums.

pulled out the old mapquest and it said the funniest thing...1.65 miles from central to the noon in just about 7 minutes...guess whoever did that trip did it with his eyes closed and no intention of havin fun...i'm really surprised to see just how small Mokum is in a technical, size way...i'm pretty sure i wont even cover 60% of the town but thats just nuts how small it is...equipped with my Ipod and some nice road smoke i'll put some miles on my new kicks...

Walking around the 'Dam with a buzz on is one of my favorite things to do in life!

I love it! Amsterdam is just a cool town.

There's nothing better in my mind than strolling around the canals whilst I'm catching a good buzz from some quality weed....

....it may take you a bit longer taking a canal route but it'll be far more picturesque, mellow and enjoyable.

I to enjoy walking, but if I may make a suggestion, stop in at Central or The Coin grab a smoke and take the #4 tram down south. Talk to some locals on the tram, check out the city before hitting the Katsu, then walk back. Kind of give you's a perspective of how small the city really is. AzLaker 8)
