CS & Headshop Kinkerstraat / Da Costastraat

Post by SilentlyScreaming »

OK, 29 (+a bit) days and my wife & I will have arrived. As we're getting into Amsterdam relatively late (10pm~ish) on the 19th April, I'm looking at just buying some goods and then immediately returning to the apartment. (We're travelling onto the UK afterwards (so two large packed suitcases), and with a non-smoking wife, popping over the road from Centraal Station isn't a possibility really).

I'm looking for (as you've hopefully guessed from the topic title) a headshop and decent enough coffeeshop somewhere in the region of the crossing of Kinkerstraat & Da Costastraat. In case that area doesn't immediately spring to your mind, here is the Google Maps view of that region.

If there aren't any headshops within walking distance of that area, that will be open at that time, could someone recommend a CS nearby (open 10pm+) that sells decent enough pre-rolleds? I'll be coming from a country where they don't sell rolling tobacco (thats a hint to my European roots ;) ), Rizla or grinders, so if I can't grab them Saturday night, I just want to buy 2 or 3 decent pre-rolleds to last until the morning.

If anyone has any information on this area of town, I'd be very grateful if you could post it. I've already been through a lot of posts here and other forums, over the last 9 months or so, but I may have missed the relevancy of some threads, as I don't know this area of Amsterdam at all from my previous trips.

I'll be posting this request at VirtualDam, ACD and Channels, so if you've already answered me elsewhere, please don't feel obliged to go repeating yourself. I'll be posting back here with the collated info at some point soon, so other members can easily find it in the future, no matter which forum they frequent.

Thanks for reading,

SilentlyScreaming

usually there are several kiosks in Amsterdam where you can buy many things you would usually see in a headshop. just have a look for those.

Good coffeeshops in this area seem to be Mellow Yellow,Noon,Little and Rokerij as far as I can tell :)

I think the closest great shop is Rokerij IV. See the map at www.coffeeshopdirect.com. IV is at A6 on the map. If you click on it's name you go to a reviews page as well as a link to the shop's website.

You're in the Oud (Old) West part of town, a not very touristic area. If you go South on Kinkerstraat there's a small street market at Ten Katestraat with a decidely Turkish flavor.
