Oh dear!!
Bro, don't worry about it. If (and it's a big if) the Nederland was to squash the coffeeshops, it would be such a political coup for America, France, and Germany that their news agencies would be flooded with stories about how the Daft Dutch Experiment had failed. Yer quite safe. No worries.

It actually pisses me off but YES you do still have to carry your passport around everywhere you go JUST INCASE you get stopped by police, asked for ID in a bar or wherever.
I carried my passport and my cash around with me all the time during my previous trip and I was more worried about losing the passport than the cash. I was never once asked for ID at any time and I asked myself "Well what's the point?"
If you lose cash then there's not really any way to get it back. If you lose your passport then you step into a whole world of red tape with insurance claims, possible missed flights, visits to the embassy and police and don't forget the cost of replacing the passport as well.
I know it's all about being safe and people being able to find out who you are at any given time but it's not the kind of thing I feel comfortable carrying around 24/7 when I'm in Amsterdam.

I know what you mean Doog. I always craay my driving licence instead - It gets wel intesne when you get ready to leave a coffeeshop!
Its like a checklist:
Weed, Fags, Rizla, Lighter, Money/Wallet, Passport/driving licence, mobile....anything else you may have with you!
Having a heavey smoking session makes it even harder

Fucking right. I mean we're all supposed to be members of one big happy European family. All these immigrants turn up and get things far too easily. I am not racist or in any way prejudiced (fucking poms) but it does get to me slightly when I see people waltz right in with the same rights and privileges as me but they have only stayed here for a couple of months.lJW wrote:Having a heavey smoking session makes it even harder
