SHAMBLES! Police go soft on cannabis
Young cannabis smokers will be let off with a slap on the wrist despite Gordon Brown's attempts to toughen up the law, it was revealed yesterday.
It leaves the PM accused of presiding over a drugs policy shambles.
Mr Brown remains determined to ignore experts and reclassify cannabis as a Class B drug but police say they will still mostly "confiscate and warn" when people have it for personal use.
The PM has said he wants to "send a message" to youngsters tempted to try the drug, which has been linked to mental health problems.
