I would be more than happy with Germany (having german relatives) or Holland (mainly for Van Der Sar - and other obvious reasons) winning it.

Although if i were a betting man....I would say Portugal.

Just walk down Nieuwendijk and there are loads of shops with football shirts hanging up....not sure how 'official' they are though. But you will have no problem finding one there. I got an Ajax one from there for cheap as it was a couple of seasons old.

The official Dutch football tops are €70, grab a t-shirt for €10 if I was you.

I'll be rooting for the Dutch obviously but I have a feeling the Portugese (read Ronaldo) might win it.

Lurz - Head down to the Nes cafe, here you can have a beer with your smoke.

Well I think that no England in it this time might be a wake-up call for the English game!. How can a country like England rate themselfs so well when they put more importance of bringing in foreign players into the English game over developing home grown talent into world class players!.

Yes I do feel I can say this as a Welsh person (yes I know England is still a lot better a team than Wales lol) as my gf is English, I live in England and have an English born baby!.

Like I said a wake-up call the England team and game in general has needed for many years!.

I blame Steve McClaren, Sven got us to the comps fair enough we were shit once we got there but we made it, Capello will be Sven part 2.

The problem is that Capello had had his day and time as a manager. His best years have gone a very long time ago. So why the English FA picked someone who has no genuine understanding of the English game and structure is beyond me.

A big name as manager means fuck all when there best days have long gone and never worked in the country on a team level let alone manager of the national team!.

I will always feel that the English FA should have gone for a much younger manager who understands how the English game works and is far more in sync with the players and how they work on a team level than be told this is the national team, this is who English players play for, please pick the best team you can!!!.

As a loyal Scotsman I've got to go for the Italians since they JUST pipped us for qualification, them or France!

Although I wouldn't be dissapointed if the Netherlands won, they kind of deserve to win sumthin, a mean over the years they have had some awsome teams and right now some excellent players.

Ah, now thats a hard question at best. But for what it's worth and reguardless of his in experience as a manager I'd have gone for possably Stuart Pearce ?.

He's the only one mentioned so far that I'd like to see get the big job, if you'd of asked me before his attempt at managing Newcastle I'd of gone for Allardyce.

In the absence of England being there, I'm a bit ambivalent as to who to follow, and am hoping for good football.
Being a Liverpool fan, I'm possibly leaning towards Spain a bit, even though they tend to do an 'England' at the big tournaments.
I'll also be following the Dutch team for numerous reasons.
Definitely NOT Portugal.........
