Might need a wee bit of help here...

Post by Szyslack »

Going to the 'dam in 3 weeks time I have compiled a little list of things i wanna try:

Grey Mist Crystal
Haze x G13
Orange Bud
Shiva
Temple Ball
White Widow
Amnesia Haze

Your recommendations on where to get these goodies would be greatly appreciated.

Also I read somewhere of a seed called White Elephant - might have been The Headshops hp. Has any ever seen the weed of this strain anywhere?

Obviously - this really goes without saying I suppose - other types of weed you would recommend would be noted :P

Thank you

---EDIT---

Oh yes, I forgot - just to make sure I understand this correctly:

Kif (a la Grey Mist Crystal) is merely sieved trichomes seen sitting on the buds and top leaves on many a splendid picture here on the Internet?

Dude, the selection of Boner's is pretty definitive, but I'd definitely add De Dampkring and/or Tweede Kamer in there too.

Their Amnesia Haze is fantastic, and a couple of other sativas they do - NYC Diesel and Sage - are excellent too. The menu's massive, although it can get pricey, and includes some knockout hashes too. A baggie of Sheherezade or Rifman Malika? It would be very rude not to.

The Grey Area menu sounds like its has a bit of a freshen up too and would definitely be worth further investigation!

One more cheeky one from me is the Anyday on Spuistraat. Their Stella Blue is worth the trip alone.

Make sure you post your findings, mate - I'm over there meself in a few weeks and would be fascinated to hear your lowdown.

Oh! Suits you, Sir!
Thanx for suggestions - I'm definately gonna sample as much as possible. I only have a slight worry - being there for 3 or 4 days - realistically - how many different types will I be able to smoke in that time and still be able to feel a difference in effect. I've smoked for 8 years now, but (unfortunately) it's mostly been hash. I'm not much worried about the "hits" of the different types, but more worried about not being able to notice the difference. Any thoughts?

I think Grey Area is the best value for money as their weeds are still EUR 7.50/gram whereas other places charge 10+ for the typical quality of Grey Area weed.

Not true anymore yes they have a lot of stuff at €7.50 a gram but they also have some weeds going up to €11 or €12 a gram now (I had some cantalopue (sp?) haze from there at €9 a gram

(your right about kif as well.)

I just did a search for White Elephant on the overgrow strainguide but no joy, I've heard of a strain called Elephant which I believe was a strain of African origins, maybe someone crossed it to one of the white strains, who knows?

What dates are you there btw?

Abraxas used to do a Elephant weed might be worth stopping by and seeing if they do the White version, the Elephant was very good btw but that was a couple of years ago.

Thanks boner for the Grey Area update. I was there a couple of weeks ago and only remember that I was surprised at the prices but I thought it was that they were still 7.50 even though I had read about increases as you report. Must of been a surprise that prices had increased to over 7.50

I was probably on drugs at the time. :)

For me, I would start the day with a "wake and bake" mid range sativa such as Stella Blue or Sage, and / or a high quality light morrocan hash for a slightly more dreamy vibe. The trick is to pace yourself - this shit is way stronger than what you're used to. I've been smoking weed for years and I still get WRECKED on Dutch weed - especially when I first arrive!

Then, as day turns to night I start to move towards some more Nederwiet - maybe a Cannaloup Haze or Amnesia Haze, or some Bubblegum or NYC Diesel - potent weeds with amazing flavours - and as it gets later maybe a peppering of some quality nepalese.

Then as the night winds down, a strong indica to take the pace down a notch or 2 - Cheese would be an incredibly potent example. Less so, but still fabulously good, are Blueberry or White Widow - and then the "port and cheese" section - strong dark hash or polm - afghan, morocco, malana would all be good.

If you're ever in doubt, discuss with the weedtender. As long as you check out the great coffeeshops mentioned above and elsewhere on the site you should have no problems in getting good service and advice.

But the real fun is finding your own way!
