Canada: What the government doesn't want us to know

Marijuana might not be legal in Canada, but its not illegal either.

As a headline on a story in Thursday's Post noted, as "$40 Pot Charge Has Law In Turmoil." So where do Canadians now stand in terms of the being charged with possessing marijuana? This reader claims pot users no longer have anything to fear.

Following the Terry Parker decision that saw marijuana possession laws struck down because there was no provision for medical exemption, the then Liberal government was given one year in which to draft a new law.

However, parliament was never involved and what followed were the Medical Marijuana Regulations. But regulations cannot replace a law.

So here’s what the government doesn’t want anyone to know: There is currently no constitutionally valid law prohibiting the possession of marijuana in Canada.

as far as I read there are some bars in the bigger cities where you can buy weed, but I dont know if this is regular or if they get shut down every few months or something.

we have compassion clubs all over the major cities.. and even is many of the more rural cities.

we also have had smoking lounges for a long time now.. many vapor lounges as well..

cannabis foods and shakes and such have been available for a while now out of a few locations in the major cities.. although to get the strong and powerful goodies, you have to be a bit connected or known to the cafe.

i havent heard much news on this yet.. although the canadian press doesnt really jump on things like this. i do know we had a very similar thing happen a few years back and it was amazing to have a summer that was even more care free.

i am interested to see if any newspaper or radio station talk about this over the next couple days/weeks. i will keep my ears and eyes open and let you guys know.

it seems many newspapers actually printed this article.. at the back of the papers.. lol

that is from a major newspaper in toronto.. and it does seem that many judges are no longer ruling anyone guilty for possession of marijunana at this time.
