Where do you land? On Schiphol Airport? If that's the case it shouldnt take you more than an hour to get out of the airport, maybe another 30 minutes to get to the city (by cab i suppose?), that leaves you plenty of time to get to the westergasfabriek.
Plenty of time. Catch a train from the airport to A'dam Centraal. Get a seat on the right hand side and you should see Westerpark and the gasworks through the window.
Out of the station turn right and stay parallel with the railway.

yeah we're planning on walking too. considering we'll probabaly have walked from kerk straat up to the centre before hand, an extra mile wont make a difference
