Your right, there is no ban of the sale of fresh mushrooms in the Netherlands yet.

But your the one that mentioned the December review date for mushroom sales and I was just wondering where you got that info from.
themindwanders posted something about it. He lives in A`dam thats all. So he might well be right. I dunno 8)
I also asked themindwaders on another thread where he saw that info and he has not responded back. And by the way, I also live in Amsterdam.

Bluebird Coffeeshop has a tobacco smoking area ready. Dolphins Coffeeshop will allow tobacco smoking downstairs. Susies Saloon has a separate room ready for joints. The Paradiso is enclosing a small room for smoking of cannabis or tobacco. The Melkweg will stamp your hand and let you smoke outside during shows and on their late night dance nights, they will open up the upstairs cafe for smoking cannabis or tobacco.

"About 24 other coffeeshops in the Amsterdam area have created smoking areas says the owner of the 420 Coffeeshop. "Michael Veling, spokesman for the Cannabis Retail Association which represents some 110 coffee shops mainly in Amsterdam and surrounding areas, did not think the ban would greatly affect his business as most of his customers bought cannabis to take home.

He said only about two dozen of his members had created separate spaces for tobacco smokers, adding that he would not: "I don't see the benefits of it."

Since the ban does not take effect until tomorrow, I will provide you with a larger list in the next few weeks.
Woohoo!! Great info, thanks man :D

Foolish? Disagree completely. If not for this lively and responsible debate, some of the initial information about the smoking ban -- including the measures some shops were willing to take to comply, while still satisfying tobacco-smoking customers -- would not have been available.

If I smoked tobacco and had been going to Amsterdam last summer, I would have been grateful for the information here.

I would liken this to a news report of a breaking story. Just because more advanced information about the story became available as time passed, and more reports developed, it doesn't make the reporter foolish for initial reports which might look sketchy in retrospect.

Besides, if hindsight were the prism through which we viewed life, we'd all look foolish.

If you can tell us how we're screwing up in the future, then you've got something!
