I see your point Peter and accept that standards are good to have.

Its appreciated all the work put in by the team here especially after all the pressure you were under when the forums went down.

As a matter of interest you can look at the server stats.
Just a few are for my hosting domain, the rest is the forum.

Thanks Cheese. I transferred a bit of t-shirt revenue I found in my Paypal too so Slimline should find a few this morning.

To be honest I really didn't have a view either way until I read Lemmings comment about a magazine subscription....now I feel that is more than reasonable.

I would be more than happy to donate the equivalent at least a pint per month in return/thanks of setting up and running the forum.

I'm moving back to England next week and my bank transfers should be in place then so I will be happy to give a donation then.

Thanks very much people, on Slimline's behalf. He's still up to his eyeballs with server problems at the moment apparently but says several people have been very generous. No doubt he'll post a message when he's got a minute. In the meantime, thanks to everyone who's contributed from me. :D

Lemming's earlier comment about buying a copy of the Smoker's Guide to Amsterdam got me thinking about where I was getting my information about Amsterdam coffeeshops.

I have smoked for several decades, but the world of modern hybrids is new to me. When I went to Amsterdam in 2006 and looked at the menus I only recognised the things which were names of countries. Everything else was new and strange. At that point I set out to educate myself and I too bought a copy of the Smoker's Guide.

Then I discovered the forum and I have learned a lot from it. There is tons of info here and it is bang up-to-date.

Therefore, I have decided to institute the "Amnesia Haze Rule" and donate to the forum the equivalent of the cost of a gram of Amnesia Haze for every trip I make to Amsterdam.

So, many grams for me and one for the forum. That seems fair.
