Airline workers fear passengers will stop flying from the Netherlands to avoid paying green tax.
THE NETHERLANDS - Airline company workers have been demonstrating against the newly-implemented flight tax.
The green tax, which went into effect on Tuesday, means passengers will have to pay additional charges of EUR 11.25 for short flights and EUR 45 on long flights.
Airline personnel fear that passengers will avoid flying from the Netherlands and will use airports in neighbouring Belgium or Germany.
The protesters handed a petition to MPs.
A court case against the Dutch state brought by airline companies is still pending.
