Dutch Rail to reduce train toilets

Dutch Rail to reduce train toilets
Monday 07 July 2008

The number of toilets in trains and on railway stations is to be drastically cut back, the Telegraaf reports on Monday.

Passenger groups are already demanding transport minister Camiel Eurlings take action about the lack of loos, the paper says.

Dutch Rail (NS) says scrapping toilets allows it to build four extra seating areas in a train. The toilets are also rarely used, the company says.

You can tell these idiots don't commute or ever have to travel with children. I hope the cleaning bills go up.

Have any of you ever used the toilet on a train? Generally they are very very gross and only used as a very last resort. When you flush, it empties onto the tracks. Yes, you can look down through the toilet and see the ground going by. So they either need to be modernized like the ones in the stations or eliminated. The way they are now is not good.

never on the train as i am more interested on counting the minutes until the 1st CS. But if this is the case with the toilets emptying on2 the tracks  then they should get rid and quick.
have used the ones at Central station just up from the luggage lockers and they are okay but then you pay for these.
Nice1

On the track is proper dirty

Frequently. Not the finest design idea I've seen. And it did leave me disinclined to walk on Dutch train tracks.
