Trip report from our NL08 Trip in June...Since 01 de Vrouw (dV) and I have made a two/three week EuroTrip each June ,crisscrossing the NL , Germany and Belgium...This year in view of future uncertainties with the CS scene we stayed in the NL ...and had our best trip ever...since this IS a CS forum we'll start with the Smoke report...
Roughly in order
Amsterdam -
Mellow Yellow-Pot of Gold -13 was a good jet lag day smokje apparently ,since I really had a smooth transition...A . Our first visit to this shop...
Green Place -Master Kush-2/15-Top Smoke of trip...A+ ,great shop for us...
Arabica -Super Skunk 7 -D-,Hash Joint- B ..interior has changed again , less comfy ,but still friendly DOD (dude on duty)
Katsu- Silver Pearl- C - got to watch the BOD (Babe on Duty) kick out several young ' uns, whose ID wasn't up to snuff...think they were Italian
Basjoe- Super Pollem -C- E-8, Heaven Haze-11-B
Little- Hawaiian Haze- B
Tweedy-High Rize-B -Rasta Shop over by Hollansche Manege/Vondel Park,Comfy Train like seats ala Sativa ...
Basjoe- Lavender- C , (James' Hash Pipe- A+)
Dampring-Kushage- C- a morning stop ,nice there that time of day
Green Place -MasterKush X 5-35- Still an A+ ,kinda techno thing going ,not too loud though
Softland- HJ-B ...have cleaned this place up last couple years ...very comfy

On to Deventer-A nice little quirk in this town is that if you buy a gram of something ,you're given a free coffee/thee...Dont Know which CS started the tradition, but its a nice one...Prices way lower than in AMS,but selection also skimpier...Mainly old standard strains NLX,Shiva,Jack,WW etc....all 3 shops we visited here had internet computers at decent prices ...Deventer went to the top of the list as an NL town to revisit for us. Hotel Royal a great choice for us and tokers in general-Its nonsmoking in the rooms ,but each floor has a smoking balcony, which offer superb views of the old town. And no one seemed to care just WHAT you smoked out there...

Maya- Moonlight-8.50- B ,Northern Lights-7.50- C ,Pepsi-6- D. Pre-Roll MJ - A (best MJ of trip)
This shop is located on the main Square "the Brink"-nicely styled,Staff nice, same for patrons...Can get pretty crowded at times...enjoyed a rainy day Scrabble game here. One BOD was clearly a clean freak, buzzin around like a queen bee...others more laid back

Bulls Cyber Shop- Located right across the street from the Sijzebaan or something parking garage where we parked the car ...another good sized shop, with Xbox rig upstairs...friendly staff/.patrons...give it a slightly higher grade than Maya there...
Shiva-B- they sell in 5s- nice version of this strain...
Ketema-C-
HJ-C

Blikken Deur- Nicely laid out, friendly shop-this seems to be the one the ladies hang out in...
Puntjes -5-B (probably the best Hash of trip, but nothing really grabbed us this year in the hash dept.other than at Basjoes)
HJ-B ... My favorite of the Deventer Shops we visited...

there are additional shops shown on theKaart.nl site ,one wasn't where listed and the others were further out than we ventured...

Hindeloopen has no CSes-So we worked on left overs and our Stash of Master Kush ,as we wondered this little town and enjoyed the Isselmeer sunset...

Harlingen- 2 shops

Hofnar-Decent shop-the BOD was nicer, than the guy who works there, patrons friendly enough...outdoor seating/toking... very limited weed menu... only three strains
We tried -White Rhino-7.50 (?)- C MJ-C

Tattooshop-they sell weed/hash-kind of a sideline to their tattoo/Headshop business... but it was actually quite good, and well priced...located near the ferry terminal, and across the gracht from the wonderful PoffertjesKraam Restaurant
K-2 11/2-- B JackH.- 5.50- B

Vlieland (and indeed all the Islands we''ve visited) is a nice location to toke. Lots of dunes ,wide quiet beaches and high grassy areas...dV likes Vlieland best. I would pick Terschelling-but I think the Ijcelandics she rode there had something to do with that....and in all fairness we didn't explore VL as much as we did Schiermonnikoog or Terschelling in years past.

Alkmaar has a nice CS scene-getting closer to AMS here...

High times-Closest to Station-,and our hotel...Kinda dark ,Reggae theme...Actually a bit too much reggae for me...in the mornings and early afternoons it was a ladies shop, with the boys out in force in the PM .Only Alkmaar shop that sold just in grams...reggae shop

Silver Haze -6.50 -gets an A from me
Jack H -6- B
White Widow-C
dV thinks they shorted us a bit quantity wise.but quality was good... the SIlver Haze was primo...

De Brug- Shiva 5-not as good as Bullseyes version we decided- C
nice brown cafe feel ...HATS OFF place... HJ-C ...Friendly patrons.

Steppin Out-Was consistently crowded,to the point we only visited once...near the Molen/Park HJ-C

Zero Zero---ultimately our fave Alk shop...the ladies hang out, even during the NL game...quiet, nice BODs...
Buddahs Sister- in 5s-X4 I think-TASTIEST weed of trip, and 2nd only to MK
in effect--A
Cheese-at 6 for half gram- too funky for me- C-
Bubble Gum -5-C

Anytime- Same side, same block as ZZ. Very nice decor, very nice staff. classy shop...nice vibe ...
Sneek- 5s X 2 - A , HJ -small but potent- B
This shop will be ready July 1 with vapo. room and other separate glass doored room.
If you want a new daytrip from AMS ,Alkmaar should be considered... gorgeous centrum...shops nicely spaced...not too hard to get in from station...dV thinks the shopping rivals or even surpasses AMS.(just reporting what I heard guys) + Beatle freaks won't want to miss the Beatle Museum over by de Brug....

AMS for the back end
walking from Central station after driving luggage to Prinsenhof, then car to Schipol...we stopped at Green Place, but alas...no more Master Kush...Super Bubble at 11 a B+ Very nice DOD ...
Basjoe for after dinner scrabble game-Orange Bud-B
HJ -A+

420-Blueberry -C- nice vibe while we were there...playing the Doors exclusively...got the munchies ,you know what that meant !! Should point out here that the remodeled CS de Kroon just across the steeg was really packed, and lively

Siberie-
Hindu Kush 9.50-C- dV again thinks we were shorted here as the BOD first put the little baggy on the scale...not good form
Purple-4.50-F- ain't what it used to be-this was once a true bargain strain alas no more...was once a top 5 shop for us...don't think so anymore

Basjoe-Melani hash -C
another HJ to take with us to NES. again an A
me 440- dV 388 ended up losing the the Scrabble series though 3-5,but that was high score of trip...The Dutch tile set is a lot of fun ... lots of games going on there this year...

Arabica -Diesel Haze -11-B+, nice vibe ...DOD very friendly
Media-King Kong-C- still like the temporary shop of last year better...as a setting, but good value .
Stix- (U'straat)Silver Pearl-C ...Not much of a shop really, but close to room.
Basjoe- Oranje Bud X 2 -7-James' recommendation-B
HJ-for NES again. another A -
Basjoe Remains our favorite AMS CS-

Dampkring-Laughing Buddah-too dry-crumbly little nugs-not nice buds, and this seemed to be the case with their weed in general -D

Media-Hindu Kush- B-nice fella working there this visit. 1.30 drinks

Reefer-Creeme Hash-11-C- 2.50 drinks too much,but nice BOD

Greenhouse Haarlemer-Silver Pearl - B - Shop was filthy though-nasty restrooms...clean it up !!...nice shop if they do that.... Glass floor very cool

Well there ya go ,probably left out a thing or two...but 20 daze in the NL ?
What do you expect....

Fly - certainly...thought I'd sent that to you already ...oops...not worried about being "credited"
Valo-For us USers having to spend so much ,and travel so far ,to get there (though this year was on NW / KLM via Miles) it makes sense ,to us ,to get out of the city and enjoy the European thing ,kinda see how the other half lives ...and the NL really has some great towns to explore ...it's so exotic..Its like y'all coming to New York and thinking you're seeing America . We stumbled upon Yanks oddly enough in Hindeloopen ,but not in Deventer or Harlingen ...Alkmaar was crawling with tourists for the Friday Cheese Market thing ...but emptied out quickly thereafter...The CS scenes were entirely local ,but English spoken throughout .Particularly after we tried our Dutch out . I think it must be painful for Nederlanders to hear us butcher their language. Even on Vlieland the lady who went horse riding with the wife spoke English better than many here...
