kushy I hear many good things about Ocean, I must go there.

btw I tried SSH from Eerste Hulp the other day because they were out of Amnesia. SSH is €11, Amnesia is €9.

Anyway, the SSH was very nice. Smelled and tasted great. The quality of the buds was great. When you tear the bud apart, it really "springs into action" if you see what I mean.

Very clear stone. So clear that I could still do normal things. But this morning I had a real weed hangover like you get when you smoke too much and your sleep suffers and you need another joint! :D

First tried this strain at 420 cafe in 2006, loved it ever since. Shame their nycd isn't of the same quality these days...

the silver haze should be more of a 'sativa' high than the super silver haze

silver haze is a cross between northern lights 5 and the original haze, super silver haze is a cross between skunk and silver haze, so ssh has more indica in it

both are very nice and any chance to compare them should not be missed imho ... it's all part of our on-going study of modern marijuana after all

Well said. For comparisons, I also recommend trying G13 crosses of good sativas like Amnesia/Super Silver Haze. Hunters has one (Amnesia cross) and Boerenjongens has both.

Plus they both have the vanilla strains too so can directly compare the taste and high while keeping the shop a constant.

If anyone knows any other places that do G13 crosses, let us know :)

for futher information you could have a look at the following pages -

Silver Haze
Sensi Seeds
"Haze started out as a multiple-Sativa hybrid with roots in Central America, South India and Thailand. ... The original Haze has had both its outrageous height gain and interminable flowering period brought under control by breeding with an extra-potent, non-dominant individual from the Northern Lights line."

Super Silver Haze
Seedsman
"Genetics: Skunk / Northern Lights / Haze"

Amnesia Haze
Soma Seeds
"BREEDING - HAZE
Indica: 20% Sativa: 80%"

my understanding that Amnesia Haze and SSH are phenotypes with the same parent genetics is supported by the page http://www.mrnice.nl/dhtml/strains.php?id=35 in the Mr Nice website ... the thanks go to boner for the heads-up on this one

SSH: NL5XHaze X Skunk#1XHaze ... SSH has more Sativa

I was under the impression that they had the same genetics: skunk x nl x haze. Just were made by different seed companies: Mr Nice, Sensi Seeds, GHS. From my smoking experience id guess SH was 50/50 and SSH was more like 70/30 sativa heavy.
Cant find much info on the subject from a quick search, found this quote on ICmag:
Sensi's Silver Haze is one of the original first generation Haze Hybrids, they've had it in their catalogue for about 15 years...it's not even related (other than the haze part (which is a father in SSH and a mother in SH)), to Greenhouse's/Shanti's Super Silver Haze... which is a poly-hybrid...

hi Pengaldinho,

the quote obviously can't be correct since how can the "haze part" be the same when one is a female and the other is a male. each haze parent plant Nevil found was unique. as I understand it Silver Haze was from a Female Northern Lights to Haze "A".

Haven't tried many different ones this time but the one at Prix d'Ami is pretty decent.

Had it from when I went last Nov, was decent. Seems to be in less places than ever these days.

Like mooncup said it seems to be a bit out of fashion at the moment. Tis a shame it was my first smoke ever in Amsterdam a few years ago. On my last trip I only saw it at de Graal (didn't try) and Solo (not bad).
