afternoon all

anyone got dreads??
im getting them asap, but im having a bit of a dilema!
my boyfriend did his completely naturally, no products at all and they look amazing! it took about 8 months for them to get that way. however he has/had extremely curly hair, whereas mines dead straight. SO i thought id definately have to use some form of product to give 'em a little push. ive been researching all sorts of products, dreadhead and knottyboy being the main two. however, i heard some bad stuff about using their products, well any products really. i really would love to be able to do it naturally but i dont think my hairs upto it!
so i was just wondering if anyone here had any advice or experiences, whether you used dreadhead or knottyboy, any other products or just gone natural!

Thinking about it I'd suggest popping over to the Hip forums http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/index.php as I seem to remember quite a lot of people growing dreads on there.

wore dreadlocks for 12 years. Natural. But honestly, I really hate dreadlocks now. You look like shite with that, like a freakin punk, + it has no meaning nowadays.

Not to mention that the day you'll cut them and see what's inside, you will be disgusted for LIFE.
