Delays for high-speed train service
14 October 2008
There will be no 250 km per hour high-speed train services in the Netherlands until 2010, two years later than originally planned, transport minister Camiel Eurlings will tell MPs on Tuesday, reports the Telegraaf.
The delay is due to the late delivery of both the trains and the required security system, the paper says.
From next year, trains between Amsterdam and Rotterdam will run at speeds of up to 160 km per hour, which is 20 km per hour faster than at present.
