I just finished the brilliant new bio of Paul McCartney called "A Life."
When I returned it to the library and went to find another book or 4, staring at me from the shelf was the 800+ bio of John Lennon called "The Life," by Philip Norman, 780.2, LENNON, J. I am a quarter of the way into it, where they just finished their first several month gig in Hamburg's stripclub/bar in the Reeperbahn..man, what a brutal experience that was!
The insight into Lennon's character is quite fascinating.

I am reading BlowBack, great read so far, another british smuggler who operated out of Thailand/Singapore, he ended up going on the run after a 72ton load was intercepted, gutted. Well recomended

I liked the bit when he gets told off by "Che" for licking 1 of his toads
Mr Nice pisses all over it though.
Sending out the good vibes to those that need them right now

Gomorrah by Roberto Saviano. An insight into organized crime in modern Naples. Pretty good so far.

i have just read charlie brookers 'screen burn'
which is a bunch of highlights from his newspaper coloum, where he reviews the weeks telly, but in the most scathing, hate filled and hilarious way.
its amazing how much i share his disgust and anger at 99% of the shit on tv.
written very well, a genuine laugh out loud a minute book.

I'm looking for some recomondations.
I just read :
Girl With The Dragon Tatoo ( was good, took a bit to pick up steam though ) .
Sweetness At The Bottom Of The Pie ( fun detective novel taking place on an English estate in the 1950s, with a 10 year old detective as the star) .
Hunger Games ( 3 book series about post appocalipse " running man " type gladiator games, first book was the best ).
Under The Dome ( Best Stephen King book ive read in a long while, folks who enjoyed The Stand will like this one, but will still find it fairly fammiliar ).

it was amazing. fiction, but so well written.
story of a little girl, during war time germany and her life, friends and feelings.... but the whole stroy is narrated by death who watches her life unfold.
sounds odd, but works so well.
One of the best books i read last year, really can not reccomend it more highly.
I bought a bunch of copies as Christmas presents last year.
Have you tried another of his books called " I Am Messenger " ?
It was also a fantastic read , reading it is like viewing a great movie from within, really transporst you.
