Voodoo on Haiti
A spectacular exhibition opened over the weekend at the museum of anthropology, the Tropenmuseum.
Vodou, Art & Mysticism features objects from Haiti’s most important collection: the Lehmann collection.
Over 250 artefacts, including life-size Bizango warriors, complete altars and ceremonial flags, offer a fascinating view—free of Hollywood clichés—into the history and rituals of this secret society.
Many of the exhibits have never before been on display outside of Haiti.
