New years 2009

Have been to Amsterdam many times over the years starting back in 97 but this year will be there over New Years , there was ment to be a few of us but now ALL but me have PIKED it so will be on my own , this i dont mind ( done it before ) but have never been there for new years and was wondering if any one knew what it was like have looked on YOUTUBE and it looks like a giant fireworks fight
Im very chill

so would not be up for huge party / club type thing so was wondering if its still possible to just sit in Coffe shop and relax ? , do they stay open after midninght ? etc . Any andvice would be gratefully received

Hello all , im new to the group but will be in Amsterdam over New year on my Own 29th Dec - 2nd Jan ....mmmm lets see im not a psycho , violent or a crack head so would not mind meeting like minded souls , Not looking to latch on to anyone or anything like that im quite happy to chill in the Coin and draw but its allways nice to have a chat with a randomer

so has anyone got any suggestions of a nice relaxed coffeebar to chill out in and maybe be able to see some of the fireworks ?
me n mrs are couple of old farts so not into the club scene etc, prefer a nice relaxed atmosphere
our first time for new year in dam too, seems wierd asking for advice for where to go at this time of year lol
