Sitting in front of the telly last evening, I decided to mix up a cocktail. The cupboard is a bit bare after the holidays, but I did spot some Gordon's gin and a few bottles of tonic water. I don't know what tonic water is called elsewhere, but it basically sparkling water with quinine and sugar. It's a quite unique taste.
Anyway, I reached into the fridge and pulled out some lemon slices. I squeezed the lemon into the gin and tonic and being a lazy bastard (might have been stoned but I can't remember :-) I merely stuck my finger in it for a quick stir.
Back to the telly, take a sip, scratch my nose.
WHAT THE F*%%%**K?
What's that scent? Where have I recently smelled this? I'm not thinking gin and tonic, it's something totally different.
It's well documented that olfactory sensations have a long lasting effect, and are deeply imprinted into the brain. This was a strong flashback, just like the first time you fingered a schoolgirl after the football game and didn't wash your hands for a couple of days :-) I kept smelling my finger and when it went away, I dipped again, let it dry, and there it was.
Then it hit me.
It smelled exactly like the NY Diesel I got at Greenhouse over NYE. What a curious smell, and after this incident I noticed a taste of Diesel with the drink. Diesel tastes different on the inhale than the exhale, and this had the smell and some of the inhale taste.
If you haven't had the killer Diesel, you won't be able to comprehend how much the dried gin/tonic/lemon smells like it.
Weird.......
FWIW (not much :-)

i have some hawaiian/skunk mix right now that smells like coffee in the bag...smells like coffee when it burns too...kinda weird...not the kind of smell that gets me excited to dive into it...but it does kick some butt for potentcy...the taste is nothing like coffee...typical hazey sativa taste...
it is what it is supposed to be...
