Not all strains are cheaper at West but specifically the SSH, Amnesia and a few others are more expensive in Rembrandtplein (11 versus 9.50 per gram in West). I know this to be fact because I live Amsterdam, and guarantee I frequent these shops more than you, but if you wanna pay more be my guest...

Also you've defnitely got it all wrong, prices do not fluctuate on the weekend, if prices increased it was due to change/inconsistency of quality between different batches of the same strain, not because of something like day of the week...ha
Any chance of a simple answer to my simple question?
Is the menu the same in both shops?

Well that wasn't a response directed towards you at all, but since you asked so politely: the simple answer, to your simple passive-agressivity is - it depends. Typically the menus are the same, but I have seen instances where de Bij or Boerejongens West will carry strains not found at the Utrechtstraat location. De Bij, definitely has a different menu, (about 3/4 the same) but with more indicas in the 7-10 euro per gram price range available.

Hope that's simple enough, for simple you :D

Edit to add: As a local, and outspoken fan of the "Amsterdam Genetics" Coffeeshops, I recommend those truly interested in sampling their finest wares go to the West location, as their sister-coffeeshop De Bij (mostly same menu, as stated above, typically with some extra indicas, also good to hit up if something is out of stock in Boerejongens you can walk right over) is not even a 2-minute walk down the road. And as stated on the whole it is cheaper, because specific strains are priced as such (ex: SSH, Amnesia, etc.)

Thanks for the answer to my question, even if though it was sarcastic and totally incorrect as far as passive-aggressive and me being simple is concerned.

Went to the Utrechtstrasse branch this weekend and liked it a lot. I purchased the LA Cannalope, the pineapple haze and the Mexican Cookies in their Sativa selection and the Kosher Tangie, 95 krypt and Lavender kush from the Indica. I thought, though good, the sativa's weren't as strong as the indicas, the standout being the lavender which was beautiful. The Kosher was pretty good, though not worth the 18 price tag and I liked the Mexican though the LA and the pineapple haze weren't that stand out.

Loved the shop though and the set up. We went upstairs with a cup of tea and, as it's a no tobacco smoking room, enjoyed a vape. Wish some of the other more grungy shops would begin to move in this, clean, dispensary-like operation.

I really dont understand your choices. The amnesia and ssh are both very good atm. If you like the haze type weed with lot of terpetenes and a mild aftertaste it doesnt get better than this. The lavender kush was good, not too strong like for example the og 18 dampkring had 2 weeks ago.

I took the gamble and tried the 20 euro tangerine hash. It was so melty and remindered me of bluebirds cheese pollen so I had to try it. I wasnt dissapointing with this purchase. Very long lasting . I must say I rolled 0.5 gr with some purple x banana kush and the joint was the shit I want to smoke daily.

18 euro's a gram? damn. back in 2009-2011 it was like $16 and that was high for then.... wonder why its going up.

demand? hard to get? greed?

still cheaper than buying in the states.... but still...

There's only a couple of bits on at that price - the rest of the menu still looks relatively reasonable and there's plenty of choice at the €9-14 end.
Right now - that looks like the best menu in town I reckon. Absolutely storming - there's at least 4 Sativas and 3 indica's I'd buy plus I wouldn't mind trying he entire hash and ISO menu! I hope it's similar in April http://www.coffeeshopmenus.org/Boerejon ... ngens.html

I get plenty of great examples of those types of haze based weed in the UK, so I tend to go for other strains that I've not had before, or can only get rarely here. Always a bit of a gamble, but this time, from this shop didn't pay off as much as I'd like.
