Working in Europe / Amsterdam

For someone in their 30s with specialist skills (IT project management) and an MBA degree, is it hard to get work in Europe and / or the Netherlands? How strict is immigration policies? There is heaps of work here in Australia and wages are fantastic, but we would like to consider working in Europe for some time, even if we start a family.
