home from amsterdam

Post by knetter »

My sister and I went to the dam for a few days, my second trip, her first, We stayed at the Barbizon, and found us a "home" shop, Our first stop was "feels good", and found us a great little place, Thanks so much to "connie", who helped us out, told us the ropes, and basically took care of us, the staff in this place were very sweet, and fun, Most the places also treated us well, Neither one of us could roll, and I prefer rolled as to pipes, most of the places had no-problem rolling for us, out of the stuff we purchased from them, but the guy at funny people acted like he did not want us there, guess we were not funny enough for him. We did all of the tourist thingies, had wonderful food, met wonderful people, and witnessed just an incredible welcoming adventure, thank you so much to all who helped us, I told them to roll like they were rolling for their momma's, as I am old enough to be. We are looking forward to returning,

:D Sounds like a good trip. I can't roll by hand either but it's interesting to know that some shops will roll for you if you buy their gear. :D

Never thought about asking that when I was out "shopping". Top class customer service there.

Of course you have to know which ones to ask, we were treated wonderful by every-one we met, and we met alot of people, the guy at funny people acted like we were intruding just by being there, but everyone else made up for it. Our rule of thumb was we did not try any-thing we do not do at home, it was not the time to practice with mushrooms, space cakes etc. We also made sure we ordered something from every place we went in, and we asked them what they would recommend, and also tipped them well, I imagine they deal with some very demanding tourist. I found all of it to be good, northern ligts, purple haze, white widow, the list goes on and on. I cannot wait to go back, I thanked every-one for welcoming us into their country.

I think you've set a pretty fine example there for others to follow. I've noticed a lot of first time Dammers coming on to the site looking for advice.

They should definitely read your posts

I should be going back there for the third time real soon (end of march). Plan A was to go during the FIFA World Cup Finals but I won't get the time off work then and plus the hotels will be twice as expensive probably.

I'll be posting all the details before and after my march trip though. 99.99 percent certain that it will be on.

Funny people has got to be one of the very worst coffeeshops in all of the Netherlands. I was also treated differently than in other shops when I bought a beverage but didn't purchase any weed.
