two trips in one

Post by patrick »

hello everybody, i have been back a week and this will all be from memory so please bear with me.

the klm non stop 747 was crowded to say the least, i was lucky enough to be sitting next to a lady on her first trans atlantic flight. she said she wasn't going to sleep and neither was i, she asked a million questions and i tried my best to answer them. about half way thru the flight we realized we were from the same small town, small world, she was in the same graduating class as my younger brother. after a on time arrival and the easy customs customs, i was on my way to central station.

after putting my bags in a locker, which incidentally now your bags are x-rayed before you can use the lockers, i walked out into a slight snow storm. a quick look around to get my bearings and then off to barneys. i stopped at picasso and asked if they had a vaporizer but he said no. barneys was not too crowded, i grabbed a stool right by the vaporizer and bought a gram of love potion. they were out of willie nelson and only had a small amount of pink kush. later in the trip their red diesel got my best weed award. all were 11e a gram. i used the volcano for awhile and meet a nice couple from scotland who were in town for the deep purple concert. i was there about 2 hours and got so stoned i got into a time warp thing, could not figure out what time it was.

finnaly stumbled out and went to my hotel, i stayed on warmostraat at the old quarter hotel. i was dissappointed at first but it did work out okay in the end. their website listed a lift and a tv, they had neither. five nights was 200e, the room was not as clean as it should have been but it was clean enough for me. they did change the sheets everyday and straighten the room. the shower was also dirty but there was plenty of hot water. i never did eat breakfast, the bar was nice and on monday nights they have a live jazz jam session which was pretty cool.

i ended up taking a vapor enduced nap for about 3 hours and then i was back out making the rounds. amnesia had been refurbished since my last trip and the dealer counter had been moved. i tried something fruity, it was only moderate and their vaporizer needed cleaning. i took off for grey area and got some sharks breath that was fantastic, when jon opened the tupperware container the whole place smelled like a skunk, it was over powering. i meet a local running the volcano and a nice couple from texas (hell it might have been erf and his wife). later that night i hit homegrown fantasy and ended the evening as i usually do at de kuil.

saturday there was a meeting of friends at amnesia, several people showed up and we had a good time. ended up at a friends canal boat enjoying the view out his window and several vapor ripps. toward the end of the evening some people wanted to go eat and we walked towards central station past barneys (on the oppisite side of the street) towards al's place for fish and chips. as we passed a store window display my friends wife pointed out you could buy a "spell" from the, for lack of a better word, witch doctor. i went back several times to see if the place was open but it never was..

sunday started off at barneys, then off to the tropenmuseum, i got on and off the tram like 3 times looking for that place. when i did find it, it was well worth the trip. it is a amazing museum. the rest of the day was spent aimlessly strolling wherevere my feet took me. on the way back to the hotel to drop off some trinkets and whatnots, i passed a smart shop and thought what the hell. i went in and talked to the nice lady, i explained that last time i had tried to eat fresh shrooms i almost threw up several times and it was not pleasent. she advised me that she had some that were already dried and for 10e i got a bag of hawawain shrooms. my last vist to amsterdam i had only gotten a slight buzz off of the shrooms, this time i went on a wild trip. i had a empty stomach and i remembered the lady saying a empty stomach would enhance the effects. at 6 o'clock i gobbled down all the shrooms, stems and all, by 6:30 i knew it was going to be a long strange trip. everywhere i went it just seemed wrong, if i was inside i felt i needed to be outside, if i was inside i felt i need to be outside, if sitting, i needed to stand, if walking i needed to stop, and so on and so forth. i finnally ended up at sensi seeds coffeeshop after a 10 minute walk seemed like 2 hours, the music was very very strange and the ladies sitting next to me were talking in a lanauge that sounded like it was from another planet, i tried to roll and smoke a joint and some how got a puff or two before that was totally weird. i was probably only there 20 minutes but it seemed like a eternity. the visuals were very good, esp at night in the rld. i also got a strong body high, it made me walk like i was drunk, or atleast that was my perception. i thought everybody was looking at me. the paranoia crept in and finally i had to go make to my hotel room were i could control the enviroment more. thank god my there was no tv, i opened the window and just sat and listened to the sounds of the street untill that became to much, then i closed the window, closed my eyes and was alone with my brain. probably not a good idea, i can certainly see why some people freak out. long story short i spent about 4 hours tripping pretty hard and was high for about 7 hours, i had plenty of time to literaly question everything on earth and everything in my entire life. and to think all for only 10e. godbless mother nature, just be careful.

monday was another big meeting at amnesia, i enjoyed meeting everybody and i am very sorry i missed meeting valo and friends. we ended up back at my friends canalboat for lots of interesting conversation and indonesion food. along with vapotized ice hash. it did not work real good, but it worked.

tuesday i was complety trashed and still thinking about the shrooms, to be honest, i am still thinking about the shrooms. i spent the last evening at de kuil enjoying some tasty blueberry buds with a new found friend from canada.

wed was just half a day so i went straigh to the grey mist crystals, i spent my last hour at hunters coffeeshop smoking (couldn't find a vaporizer) some jack herrer (7e) and some white smake (11e). the white snake was very impressive. as i grabbed two space brownies to go, it started to snow.

it snow on my arrival and on my departure, the inbetween 4 days were filled with blue skys and bright sunshine. this was my first trip to amsterdam that was umbrella free. i loved it.

the flight back was uneventful, esp since i slept most of the way, the customs guy asked all the usual stuff then looked me in the eye and asked "did you do any drugs while in amsterdam?"....i said "certainly"....he stamped my passport and said welcome back to america.

i tried to make this a vapor only trip.

barneys....nice place, esp after the breakfast rush, nice clean volcano, the budtender not only broke out a new filling chamber and fresh bags but contributed several buds from his personal stash to my vapor trail. they did forget my breakfast order and plus got my friends order completly wrong, but hell its wake and bake and mistakes will happen. all in all it was my favorite shop this trip, on other trips it had not ranked as high.

grey area.......top notch gear, friendly service, clean volcano, just sometimes to crowded and to busy to enjoy.

homegrown fantasy.......the budtender in the mornings was the nicest guy, toward the end of my trip, he would set the volcano up and turn it on as soon as i walked in the door. i meet alot of cool locals there and really enjoyed everythime i went in.

amnesia......great spot to hang out and chill, comfortable seats and a good selection of weed. i spent alot of time here. the amnesia haze and the love potion seemed to be favorites with everybody, i think they were 11e.

de kuil......what can i say, i got engaged there so it is a sentimental favorite. the people are very nice and the budtender had no problems filling lots of vapor bags for me.

there was a few other places i ventured in but these were the most vapor friendly ones i found, greenhouse effect was also vapor friendly but they had a very small bag on the device and it was dirty, plus i was not impressed with their weed, i even tried the greenhouse special.

all in all, go vapor as often as possible, you can probably do better then the old quarter hotel, do the shrooms but be prepared.

thanks to all i got to meet.

please forgive all spelling and grammer errors.

untill next year...................................patrick

I can totally empathise with your shroom incident.

Amsterdam is a strange place to be when you've had a stalk to many.

I reckon getting the dose exactly right is really hard...... You were lucky to get dried mushrooms...... I thought they were off the list now.....

Nice one m8. That was a pleasure to read. :D :D :D :D :D

Ive stayed at Old Quarter a couple of times. I know what you mean about it, there nothing really wrong with it but it lacks inspiration dont you think? The 1 or 2 bed rooms are pretty small too.
You missed it right?

thanks for the many kind words.

i should add that coffeeshop anyday had a "eagle bill" type of vaporizer that worked very good, problem was the shop is small and the barstools uncomfortable. the budtenders were very nice and it was the only shop i got a free glass of tap water with ice.

el gaupo (sp?) did not have a vaporizer and neither did sensi seeds.

i was going to take my own mouth piece but at the last minute changed my mind. i did take some alcohaul wipes and used them to cleaan plungers and mouthpieces. next time i will bring more wipes, bags and some screens and just donate them to the cause.

i think some people might not get the whole effect from vaporizers in the dam because most of the time they are pretty clogged up. that being said i think the canalboat i might rent next year comes with a vaporizer.

i also tried some grey mist crystals in the volcano, it worked but not as good as i thought it would.

FYI- when attempting to vape hash (any kind powder, bubble, oil, etd) throw a couple extra screens in the cano chamber...crank it to 8-9 ...vape.....flip screens ...vape again.......works for me anyway...and much lees chance of some good melty shit melting INTO the cano, it happens!!

and again great report! after a hard day at work it helps me remeber why i bust my ass everyday....so i can go to cool places like A-Dam.
