Airlines Lowering Fares?

Post by drayman86 »

From a recent AP story. Perhaps we'll see a drop in airfares?

I have been monitoring a trip from Phoenix to Ams with one stop in London and it has gone down almost $100.00 per person since I started watching about five weeks ago.
Am paying for three fares so trying to get best prices I can. :?

I just got my tickets tonight. I almost waited too long. The time I wanted to get there and leave by were all booked up and only pricey seats were left. Flights that were $1100 were now $2200! I kept on looking though and found a flight similar to what I was looking at so I snatched it up. Better to get in the dam at 6am than noon, at least I think so.

they individual lockers vary on size/price but they would basically take any size bag at that "check-in" point down the hallway. i thought it was reasonable but really if you have a hotel, it is pretty pointless and a waste of money as i have yet to stay at any hotel that won't keep your bag for you...now if you are doing the apartment/houseboat/etc. route, that's a different story

I usually shop with http://www.kayak.com/ they show all fares...high and low. Fares have been running in the $1100-1300 range for flights from Phoenix and that's all airlines. Then in Mid-January USAirways had tickets going for $680 from Phx., so I bought 2 real fast. 10 days later their prices went back up to normal price. Since then Continental has lowered their prices for awhile, now Northwest Airlines has prices in the $600 range. Almost like getting two for one when their that cheap. :D More money to spend in Amsterdam.
