Hotels to get prostitution handbook

Dutch hotels are to be given a handbook helping them to recognise whether their premises are being used for illegal prostitution, reports the Telegraaf.
The hotel and catering organisation Horeca Nederland, police and the sex industry association VER are all involved in the project, the paper says.
Prostitution is legal in the Netherlands, if the people involved have a valid residency permit, but brothels must have a licence.
Earlier research by VER showed that 13 chains with some 273 hotels were being used by illegal prostitutes and their clients. In 69 cases, the hotels were more like brothels than lodgings, the paper says.
