$60 million dollar Marijuana crop bust

Post by Krint »

POLICE said a huge cannabis crop found at Virginia in Adelaide South Australia had a possible street value of $60 million.

Detectives and STAR Group officers swooped on the O'Loughlin Rd market garden this morning where they found about 4000 cannabis plants in five glasshouses.

The plants ranged in size from about 30cm to two metres in height and all were in healthy condition and were being fed by an elaborate watering system.

Superintendent Linda Fellows from the Drug Investigation Branch said, "it has been some time since we have had a crop of this size".

This is only 15 mins from my house, no joke!
Laws in S.A. are known to be the very slack, but as the video mentions the growing of over 100 plants for sale is life in prison

Cops have a "wonderful" way of exagerating the value of their seizures.

IMO, they do this, partially, to justify their existence or demand more man power. (Also, to help ensure the suspect get long sentences! )

Many times I have calculated the price, per gram, pound, joint, (or if something like E price per pill), etc, given the "Values" quoted by the police and the ridculousness of their valuation becomes apparent. (One time, the value quoted for a shipment of E, worked out to $100.00 US per pill....yeah right! Another time it worked out to about $50.00 a joint!)

In this case, it works out to ($60,000,000 AUS/4000 plants) = $15,000 AUS per plant. Well, unless the Aus dollar has just taken a shit kicking in the FOREX (foreign exchange) markets, then their valuation is complete BULLSHIT!!!

Also, if those plants were not ripe, then, in my view, the entire lot had value of dick!
