After hearing that Pink Floyd sells real Irn Bru (Barrs, made in Scotland) I became eager to find out if there was a good old British style "chippy" somewhere in Amsterdam and I was delighted when I came across this place on http://www.hiptravelguide.com.

There are a lot of Brits who are members of this forum and I would like to know from all of you (and anyone else) who has been there and can tell me more about the place and what kind of suppers they sell (apart from fish obviously).

:D Looking forward to hearing from you :D

An American friend of mine loves Al's, I've never been myself (walked past it loads of times) I don't see the point of eating English food in Amsterdam, during my last trip a friend invited me to a full english which I declined and when he asked why (he's American btw) I said I can have a full english at home anytime!!

Anyway heres the website Al's Plaice there's a menu on there.

 Oh my god, what a plaice

I am so motherfuckin there on my next trip. Menu seems a bit limited compared to chip shops here, but there's plenty there to keep me happy.

Loved the site, the pictures are great too. Looks exactly like your standard British chippy.

I kinda like a taste of home when I'm abroad. Helps to keep the feet on the ground.

Thanks very much for this fanastic link (sorry bout the PM, sent it before I noticed your reply)
