For some reason, whilst in the 'Dam, I was never really drawn to fried chicken. Randall's grocery stores have been cooking up some killer fried chicken here in central Texas. They offer better deals than Popeye's, Church's or KFC. There is also Bush's Fried Chicken (no relation to that former president or his daddy,) which I find quite palatable.

There is a place very close to the Old Church called 'Chicken and Rib' I think. It is right in the RLD just by a cute bridge over the canal. For my money the food there is better than KFC by far and they have ribs!
How much did you produce?

I know it's pretty far from the 'Dam, but, The Round Table in McComb, Mississippi had some incredible fried chicken. I don't know how well it would travel, though... There is also a similar place with communal dining in Pensacola, Florida with good fried bird.

The anticipation of waiting until the chicken was cool enough to eat must've been agonizing! Old-fashioned, home cooked is by far the best!
