Amsterdam cafe clean up

Amsterdam city centre is to allow bar and cafe owners to put ashtrays outside because of the mess left behind by smokers who are forced outside by the smoking ban.

Under current bylaws, cafes are not allowed to place any 'free standing objects' in front of their premises.

Wouldn't that be common sense to do. I mean if you force them outside and there are no ashtrays outside, where do you think the butts will go? :roll:
