Your favorite era (60's, 70's, 80's, 90's)
I've just been sitting around tonight listening to alot of old 80's music thats brought back alot of old memories of growing up. It gave me the idea of making a poll of your favorite era to date. I was just a kid in the 80's and a teen in the 90's, but I will have to give the 80's my vote. I still love the music and the movies, though I could pass on the fashion and hairdo's. What was your favorite and why?
Everybody's a jerk. You, me, this jerk.
I think a person's favorite era of music will be in the era that the person grew up in. For me that would be the 60's and 70's but I marked the 60's. That was my generation; the Woodstock generation. For me, a lot of the music was about peace, love and kindness to your brethren. It was also very anti-establishment and "power to the people" type of music. Peace n Love.

90's for me.
jungle, hardcore, psy trance the sanctury, the labyrinth, bagleys, doves, mitsubishis, oi oi top bannna, off yer nut, whistle crew, horn crew, pony tails, center partings, white ford escort xr31's, cruises in mc donalds car park, stripey shirts, ladettes, ibiza uncovered.....
ha ha
what puffin says.... everyone will always think the decade they grew up in is the best.
for me it was the 90's, i didnt turn 18 untill 2000, but for the second half of the 90's i was desperate to grow up, and i looked up to all the over 18's doing what they did in the 90's. loved the music, loved the fashions, loved the scenes.... and then 2 years into my adulthood, everyone starts listening to rock music and starts wearing skinny jeans???? i already feel like an old man.

I put the 90s i was a baby in the 70s,80s so for me the 90s. I cant remember much as the weed has took its toll on my cells.
Many raves ,many drugs, and many women.
Then towards the end of the 90s early 2000 i became more chilled and headed for the likes of Cream, Gatecrasher, Passion, and my fav venue Progress in derby (THE ORIGINAL ONE IN THE CITY CENTER).
Now i am totally chilled and the thought of hitting these places in my early to mid 30s would scare the shit out of me

I was born in 72 so I didn't really start listening to music properly until I was in my teens but looking back now I think the 80's was terrible music wise the same with the 90's, I now love the 60's and 70's music but I'm more about here and now so I think if the option for the 2000's was there I'd go for that.

Im still young(ish) and World Cup 1990 started my love for football at a young age, and to me the 90's produced the best group of footballers, running around as a kid in the 90's without a care in the world, no troubles, i was in to all kinds of music from 2Pac to Oasis, hardcore to Garage. So i would say the 90's as the best decade for me. Still, probably wernt as good as the swinging 60's (wasnt even a twinkle in me old mans eye back then!!)
Excuse me while I light my Spliff.....

Iv'e voted for the 60's as, to me at least, it seems like it would have been a really fun time to live, great music, art and fashion. An awakend political scene, scientific advancements, mind expanding Happenings.
Not to mention all the classic Old-school pot!
With the exception of a certain cup win in 66
, it does seem like an excellent decade.
However, for music, some of my favourite's pre-date the Swinging Sixties by some distance!
There's been some real dross in My liftime thats for sure! (83-now
