This is how I start seeds. I line a clean glass with a paper towel and put the seeds between the paper and glass. Put a little water in the bottom of the glass and allow them to sprout. I transplant them into these cups when the show green tops or have grown the root more than 1.5 inches.
These are COB purchsed through Milehigh. These tiny seeds sprouted very quickly, and have grown very quickly, I hope that they bud quickly too! I grow them 24x7 under CFL until they have 3-4 lobes and then move them under the 400W MH set for 20/4.
This is the 20/4 veg growth space. What you see here now are clones. They were all cut about a month ago. When I returned from my last Haj, I had sufficient lower lobe growth to make 2 clones from each of my (2) BB's and (2) Afghans. As you can see, 5 of the 8 took, with the healthier growth being the Afghans toward the back. Seems to me that BB is harder to clone, and as with seeds sprouting, clean hands are of ultimate importance. UPDATE: The BB1 in the flower section went male and has been culled. This means this little clone is male too, and will have to go.
Of the first group, only BB2 didn't carry a clone into generation 2. I still have hopes for the two in the foreground ...
The flowering spot has a 175W HPS with temp 32W CFL ... Here are the (2) Afghan and (2) BB + (3) dwarf Mazars
UPDATE: The BB on the right and one of the Mazars went male and are gone.
The fly strip is an inexpensive way to prevent a reinfestation of insects.
This shot didn't come out very clear. So far, this BB is the only plant displaying flowering, it's BB2, the one that didn't clone
