I smoke because I had a serious cycle accident back in 2001 and smashed both knee caps, cracked my pelvis and did a number to my forehead. Since then, my knees and backside have been riddled with pain, the NHS did not want to know and I cant afford to go private. After I started smoking ganja; the pain calmed down and the pain is now bareable.
Im also short sighted and i find I can see better when I am high, wierd!
But if i am smoking at a party or just doing it socially, I will get mashed.
This is the diffrence, I smoke a spliff to calm the knee down, but only take more if im with mates or want to get wrecked.

Well I smoke for both reasons
I have smoked recreationally/socially since about 84 then In 2001 I injured my back and have been left with chronic sciatica
daft as it sounds I find it isn't great for the pain (mostly referred pain so that may be why??)
but helps me cope with it better & sleep better
& I can function a hell of a lot better than when taking the industrial strength pain killers the leach peddler prescribes
(Which also give you a stinking hangover, without the pleasure of getting rat arsed first!!)
Socially & recreationally, well
What can beat sitting down with a good mate drinking copious amounts of tea & talking total bollocks till the wee small hours
