I've been visiting Central for 10 years+ and I'm 99% certain that it's been pretty much as it is now all that time. If there was an upstairs seating area and pool tables, it was a long time ago. My guess is that it did have the upstairs seating and pool tables in the early days, or under different owners, but they weren't being used much and the space was sold.

It does state they have 3 pool tables and 124 seats. So we are deffo not going mad lol.
I was in Central a few weeks ago and asked the bud tender about the sign. He finally admitted that it was put there in the beginning for a gag. He mentioned that people still come in asking be shown to the upstairs room. So he tells them to use the door on the right behind the counter. Once through the door they find them selves in the loo!

Like MANY other posters, I really love this place. It's proximity to Centraal Station, the fact that it in open EARLY, and almost on a direct line to my hotel make this my first stop every time I visit. It can get crowded, but I find that is often the case in many CS.

Got some nice NY Diesel (25E for 2.6g) here on Wednesday, followed later on that day with 2 space brownies which were both delicious and satisfying. Bought some Lebonese Hash on Thursday (12.50E for 2.1g) nice mellow high. Budtenders were friendly both days, I was hellishly nervous on the Wednesday as i'd never bought from a coffeeshop before, cool place.

So, after near 10 years for me at least, the mystery is solved!. A bit of an in joke to poke fun at the small size of the place then.
Dont know what sounds worse, being an in joke or there having been the upstairs and nobody knew it existed?. In any case thanks for helping to get the mystery solved. Just wont be the same when I go in now and notice the seating & pool table sign on the window

A nice floaty feel, after two days of roaming Amsterdam, on the 3rd morning this smoke was perfect.
I felt like low ground fog moving through the street. Real nice.

I like this shop's no nonsense style. Plain and simple, walk in, budtender opens box, ask a question or two, pick a bag,
€25 on the left, €12.5 to the right, grab a coffee, watch people pass the window . . .

Thompaw, you say these should be in Cannabis Strains but, as they're about buds from Central, I think they fit in here just as well.
Nice pics btw.

Think i recall going in here for first smoke 11 odd years ago. may have been this one im pretty sure it was. its probably the closet one when you come out of central right? think we bought some either white widow, ak47 or cristal lady or bubble gum, alota happened since then, probably lost a few thousand brain cells so havin trouble remembering.
