Well this place, the menu at least, really has changed. Gone is the box menu with the pre-bagged gear. In its place is a smaller more normal menu under glass. sure, the gear is still bagged on the menu. But they do seem to at least do the deals from the main tubs.

There is also a minimum buy of €10 but after that I guess you can pay by the gram. The prices seem quite cheap I paid €8.50 for some generic gear. They also have some dirt cheap Bombay Black for €2.50 per gram. Ok, not propper Bombay as it used to be probably the cheapest hash I seen anywhere this trip. Probably better suited for cooking with at that price and probably low quality.

I've posted about that, and how I thought it had changed hands, but I was there last Sunday and one of the people there seemed familiar, though the uncharacteristically fat budtender some people seemed to have problems with wasn't there. Got a €10 deal of Jack Herer, which seems to be everywhere at the moment; in March I went to Green Place especially for it. Nothing brilliant, but given that it's pretty much the only option at certain times, it's adequate. And I do like seeing Mokum wake up and the buses bound for Borneo Eiland.

Coffeeshop Central

Post by BigB33 »

Hi all,

I am heading to the Dam in less than 2 weeks. I remember last I was there back in '07 Coffeeshop Central used to be a good coffeeshop to get great deal on pretty good stuff (not top of the line but good). Strains such as Davidoff, White Russian, Buddha, Cheese, etc. were available and would get roughly 1.5 - 2.0 grams for 12.50E

Has anyone gone here recently? Please shed some light on the quality of bud (name of strains if possible as well) and the cost.

Much appreciated brethrens.

its a nice wee coffeeshop it sells white widow,cheese,ak47 and pp,all between 7- 8 euro a gram, not the best of weed in town but it is cheap and ive seen it queued out the door on many an occasion with people buying and flying so it seems a popular shop esp with some locals which isnt a bad sign

^^ Wot 'e sed.

Not a bad little place to while away the odd hour before Voyagers opens. Decent coffee and the bench with bar stools looking out over to Centraal is great for people watching. Just give the Chocolope a miss.

Thanks all, appreciate the prompt responses.

Will hit this place and voyagers first and get something from both places. This will allow me to quickly judge the quality of central compared to some of the top gear in Amsterdam.

I plan to get top quality smoke but given I am going to be there for 7 days (with a bunch of friends), I wouldn't mind also having some good stuff for a good price.

Any particular strains that stand out at Central? I remember the Davidoff being a knock out.

you can judge both places, but the gear at Voyagers blows Centrals away,, for better prices head out to the PIjp

There's a €10 minimum now. But what everyone said – it's a decent place for an early morning smoke.

Central is a previous top 5 of mine, but gone is the €12.50 & €25 bag choices in the display case like they used to have and loved by many to look at. Now it's the standard price per gram menu like most. But as I recall the prices are at most average, which is cheaper than many coffeeshops for it's location in Dam. But as said the quality is only pretty average so swings and roundabouts etc as the saying goes. But for view out of the window onto Centraal Station, NO coffeeshop can beat and the view alone while enjoying a smoke is worth going there for alone in my opinion.

thanks for the info.

I agree with most there gear being pretty average but I do certainly remember they would have 1 or 2 strains that would usually knock you off your feet such as White Russian and Davidoff both of which I don't really remember seeing else where
