Here's a question: Does anyone know what the difference is between the mayo, Zaanse mayo, and Vlaamse mayo for your frites?

I think the mayo & Vlaamse mayo are just regular mayos the Zaanse one is mustard mayo (according to google anyway), some places do a specific frites mayo as well. ;)

If you want frites then dont go anywhere but the one down Voetboogstraat.

Thanks Boner! I did a little searching myself and dicovered that the Vlaamse mayo has a significantly lower fat content than the regular stuff. And yeah, I think your right about the Zaanse being mustard.

From the Manneken Pis website:

I've always wanted to hit that frites stand by Dampkring, but either forgot to or was confronted with a huge line like the one Twichaldinho took a picture of for his recent trip report. I'm sorry, but I'm just not waiting 30 minutes for frites!

When I was there the line was as big as the one in Twitchaldinhos picture and we waited about 5 mins for our frites.

boner is right, you won't have to wait 30 minutes, only 5 minutes

and that is for the best frites in amsterdam imo

so treat yourself and don't forget this time and go find that place, you will love the vleminckx's frites if you love frites/chips/french fries

Walked past this place so many times on my last trip but was a bit wary of going in, but now it has the "Boner Seal Of Approval" I shall definitely give it a go when I get there on the 12th...

Cheers Boner - always on the lookout for a good burger!

There is no comparison at all. Sorry Boner. Burgermeester has a 2nd place in the Jordaan on the Eilandsgracht btw.

Hard Rock Cafe makes a decent American style burger.

Well I guess I'll brave the line in two weeks. I do love Manneken Pis, and many people, locals among them, have told me that the place on Voetboogstraat is the place for frites.
